Guess who found their second home all the way in Shah Alam? Yep, that’s me, Bert’s has been a great place for me to plant my base down either to complete some work or just to chill in between meetings. Hospitality is A+ here, thanks to Sarah who really attends to her customers. Food here is also a huge thumbs up, with their own family recipes residing in their menu. From the Nasi Lemak, Butter Chicken Rice, to their signature Curry Kapten(No curry used, have to try on your own). What else can I say to ample parking, comfortable environment, great service, and marvelous food.

Bert’s is a family run business so you can be sure that all the dishes here are made with love! It is a quaint little café which is slowly but surely gaining buzz due its mouthwatering dishes. Leading the pack is their best selling butter chicken. I’ve tried it and yes, it is to die for! A little spicy and a little wet, not your run of the mill butter chicken, but it is spectacular as far as dishes go. I’ve also tried their selection of pasta which is also top notch. Other dishes to take note of are their nasi lemak and mee kuah. Gosh, I’m wishing I’m at Bert’s right now just thinking of these dishes! I like this place as parking is aplenty and prices are reasonable. It is a little out of the way, but worth the trip for you foodies out there. Two thumbs up for Bert’s!

I need to do something. Something I good at. That’s nothing I could do better than eating. As usual, everytime I heard there’s a new restaurant or café in town, I’ll try to get myself to the premise as quick as possible. The similar stories happened during my first visit to Bert’s which located at U12 Shah Alam. My girlfriend had been annoying with me for quite sometime because I was too busy to take her out for lunch. So Bert’s was my only plan to keep her mouth shut. As soon as I arrived there, I parked my car as closest as could be due to laziness. It’s not that hard to find this café as you reach U12 Shah Alam because the signboard is quite gigantic. Bringing the contemporary-style of interior, this café did makes me feels calm. I may a drinker but not a smoker. Therefore, the indoor area will always be my first option. The servers are so friendly as they cant stop smiling. I bet they got paid well. I went for Spaghetti Meatball Bolognaise as the server told me that dish is highly recommended. I can’t argue with the servers as I have the first bite of it. I enjoyed my lunch with a glass of iced tea. Same goes to my girlfriend and I think she felt the same about the food as she was smiling while eating the meal. I will be there again someday for teatime maybe because I could imagining myself reading books while having a cup of hot mocha with the such lovely atmosphere.

Berts is little bit out of the radar than most coffee shops. Actually it’s a bit more of a café. It is placed right at Shah Alam which is on the way to Klang if you are following the Federal Highway from KL. I wouldn’t exactly call Berts a coffee shop because it serves a full blown food menu which varies from month to month and one of my favorite dishes from there would have to be the Mee Jawa and their pastas. I heard the nasi lemak is also something to look out for. The meringue sundae is to die for and the creamy butter chicken is just… perfect for me. I would go any time to just get a hold of the butter chicken. The spot is pretty cozy with a smoke room at the side of the café where you can bring your guitar and play it. They have comfortable couches in the room for you to park yourself and have your coffee. Their opening hours are between 12pm to 11pm so you can look for either Sarah, or Syamil when at Bert’s
