A nyonya restaurant that displayed its heritage in pride all over the shop, from the front door till the toilet. But the décor was not why I was there. A family dinner in the restaurant went really well with good food, nice ambient and attentive staffs. Ordered a set for 6 – 7 pax but it was really more than enough for 8, the dessert with some awesome gula melacca perfected the dining experience. Wished the tau eeu bak was a boiled a little longer, would have given a 5 star otherwise. Strongly recommended never the less.

The Wok is a little gem in Bandar Puteri that serves authentic nyonya cuisine. It has also been around for a while and is very well known. It’s décor is outstanding with relics and antiques from previous generations, and the vibe of the restaurant is hearty and homey. As for the food, dishes generally exceed expectations. Give the stir fried roast pork a miss and go for the Penang lor bark, assam fish, tau yu bak(pork in soy sauce), kangkung belacan, and cincalok pork instead. The kiam chai buay aka salty vegetable soup is quite powerful, and I know for a fact that people who love this dish come all the way here for their fix. As for dessert, go for the Ais Kacang. Go in numbers and order more dishes to sample. This is yet another place where I haven’t left without feeling very satisfied with my meal. Even if you don’t stay in Puchong, it is well worth a drive to Bandar Puteri for a meal here. Prices are also very reasonable.
