SS2 is a food haven and since I have moved in to the neighbourhood, I have been adventuring around looking for food much more than before. With that, there have been weight gain and the growth of my tummy. *burp* Sun Hin Loong, is the corner coffee shop next to Watson and Kamdar. It has been around for the longest of time, ever since I knew the existence of SS2, Sun Hin Loong has been around. There are plenty of food choices to choose from. There is the char kuey teow, asam laksa, Kampar fish ball noodles, claypot noodles, chicken rice and may more. Personally, I would say that the char kuey teow and the kampar fish ball noodles are the better ones here. But they are only open during the day. Another thing, Sun Hin Loong opens till late at night. And if you’re craving for tong sui, Sun Hin Loong has a stall that serve pretty good tong sui. I’d say the quality of the other food stalls at night are not as good as during the day. But, if I were to choose, I’d go for the wan tan mee(dry one) and that’s about it. Maybe the ikan bakar. But do stay away from the pao stall. They weren’t fresh when I had them.

I used to come here quite frequent in the morning just to have their Kueh Chap but since the guy stopped his business, I too visit this place less often. There are tons of food choices in SS2, kinda like a food heaven to anyone. But for the most time that I find myself here is because early in the morning, not much shops are in business around SS2. And parking is easy here because they are located at a corner and you could easily double park all you want like a true Malaysian. Since the guy left, I now order their fried kuih Tiao and during dinner time, I would give their dessert stall a go too. Lots of choices but I prefer their red bean or soya base dessert offerings.

SS2 is also known as the food paradise, but let’s face it, there are only selected stalls with really nice food, correct? Not all the fish ball noodles are good. Not all the pork noodles are good. Not all the grill fish is good. But if you are craving for the said local food, try Restoran Sun Hin Loong. Well it’s not a proper restaurant but more like hawker stalls under one roof. The pork noodles with yee mee is to die for. It has minced pork, pork slices and pork balls in the noodles. It even comes with a bowl of soup with all the meat inside as well. Get the Portugese Grill Fish to go with whatever you are eating. It’s a little spicy but if I can stand eating it, I’m pretty sure you will do fine. The fish is basically grilled with some sort of spicy gravy. I asked for less spicy and you can do the same… or the opposite. Whatever you do, never order the wan tan noodles during the day. It’s doesn’t taste good at all but there is a different chef at night and I’ve yet to try his version. Perhaps it might be good — giving him the benefit of the doubt.
