Hmmmm my feelings towards this place was more like EMPTY. The udons tasted normal, nothing much to shout out about. Well to be frank the pricing for their noodles was rather economical, that’s why I decided to give it a try. So it goes back to the saying it takes value to get good food at times. LOL so yeah that’s exactly how I feel here. They are located around one corner at Jaya One, so if you are not familiar with the place you will take some time to look for it. They seemed pretty secluded if you haven’t been here before. Well when asked if I will go back? Well let me think about it ok? :)

It is not easy to find good and cheap udon… but tada! Marufuku Udon is good and cheap! I was walking around Jaya One on evening, just to kill time and I spotted this little restaurant. Oh Udon! First thing I did was checked the price in the menu. Reasonably cheap! I was totally bought over to try a bowl. I ordered a bowl with a side of chicken karaage(Japanese fried chicken). Both was amazingly good. The udon was simple but full of taste, while the fried chicken wasn’t too oily and has a good seasoning on it. The only low point of this place, it has poor air flow, the heat from the kitchen is trapped inside the restaurant, even the air conditioner is on. Other than that, all is good and all is well about this place.

Marufuku Udon serves fresh udon and other Japanese side dishes to accompany your Udon meal. I used to eat here a lot as I studied in IACT Jaya One. It’s a great place to go if you’re looking for a simple meal around Jaya One. The portion is slightly small for me as I’m a big eater but other than that the portion is great for the ladies especially. They have a wide variety of udons, yakitori, tempura and side dishes that you can order from. I personally love the Chicken Kakiage there so be sure to try it out! My hand-down most favourite Japanese restaurant. They offer one of the most economical Japanese meals I have ever encountered. Anyone who believes that good Japanese food has to be pricey has never encountered Marufuku. At lunchtime, this place can be pretty crowded but the staff has developed an excellent seating system that accommodates everyone. When they first started out there were a limited number of udon dishes on the menu but this has expanded over the years to include varios dons(rice bowls). They use authentic short grain Japanese rice which for me, is important to separate the Japanese restaurants that make an effort from those who just want to make a quick buck. The karaage chicken here is the best I have ever had and their creamy Udon is also highly recommended. Also if you order a main dish, like an Udon or rice bowl, you get a refillable drink for only RM1.

Another day out with my bro. Knowing im indecisive, he took me to this cheap yet delicious place. At jaya one, near The School lies this humble japanese restaurant called Marufuku. It was kinda packed due to lunch hour but lucky for us there was a seat available. I ordered the spicy misou along with chicken katsu and this dish which had onion and pumpkin fritters. For a reasonable price, all of those dishes, I would give a thumbs up! The udon was good, the chicken katsu was not overcooked, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside and the fritters were crispy and not so oily. I would return to this restaurant with friends as there are many more dishes that I would love to try at an affordable price!

Jaya One is a place with multiple eateries and new ones are opening up every now and then. One of the longest eatery in Jaya One is Marufuku. They specialize in udon, and you have the options of udon with sauce base or soup base. The place is kind of like a fast food, hassle-free concept, and it’s a perfect place to grab a quick lunch over during working days. Though the udon doesn’t have the springy texture of a hand-made udon, but it’s not too bad for a ready-made udon. One of my favourite would be the House Special Udon served cold. In my opinion, it’s the perfect dish to have during the hot afternoon weather. Apart from Udon, they have rice/don options too. I have yet to try the rice dishes out, so no comment on there. On top of these, they have 2 fusion udon — spicy aglio olio and carbonara. Marufuku is a place where my friend and I visit a lot, not only because they are fast in serving but also the pricing. The price of the udon range from RM7 onwards, and you can add a drink for only RM1. Most of their udon do not come with many ingredients, but they have a few add-ons options for you to choose from.

if you are looking for a cheap place to eat Udon about Rm6 — 12, this is a suitable place You can have your quick break having Udon with Soup, Rice, Udon dry with soup and Udon cabonara and side dishes such as karake(seaweed) is Rm1 and Karake(chicken) is RM4. This place is so affordable, service is quick and food is tasty and keeps you full for hours. Also the green tea is refillable and they have waffles too. My favourite is the house special, it is just udon, egg and vege. The egg will be half cooked for you to mix the egg with the Udon.
