My friends and I planned to go to another resto but since there was a function, I used my trusty app Unilocal instead and found Fatty Crab was nearby! and away we went! WE had to wait to be seated since it was packed but thankfully we didn’t have to wait too long to get a table. We ordered their signature spicy crab, fried rice and steamed fish. Boy it was awesome! The crab comes in this gravy which I found to be a little too sweet but with the toasted bread they serve balances out the flavour and it gives a spicy after taste. They don’t have mantau(buns) but serve toasted bread instead, either way it is good. There yummy food ensures this place is constantly packed to brim with patrons and the service is pretty quick for such a busy resto. Whilst it is pork free, they do serve alcohol and you will see people from all walks of life here, Malaysians, expats and tourists. I highly reccommend everyone to try it. Just order what I ordered, it’s awesome.

1– Even though you’re in line(for quite some time), the aunties(?) are efficient in making sure that you get your turn. It’s a system only they understand lol but I’ve never waited for more than 20mins 2– If you were in line, they probably took your order so by the time you’re seated you only have to wait like 10mins(maximum) before your food comes. Very efficient. 3– food is great. Can’t complain about the size of the crab because that’s seasonal. But the food is and has always been great. 4– it’s quite pricey especially if it’s a big order. But overall, if you like crab, this place is amazing. Just the crab.(and those chicken wings) Everything else(prawn, fish, fried rice) is mediocre and overpriced.

One day, I had a sudden desire to eat crabs. Googled for famous crabs & came across Fatty Crab. I arrived early before 6pm. The spicy crabs were awesome. Each bite made me smile & I was licking every drop of gravy from my fingers. The flavour was enhanced with cold sweet coconut water. There was a little corner where they barbequed chicken wings. Oh my goodness! The fragrance of the wings wafted all the way from the corner to my nose. I looked at every table. All the customers were smiling & chatting away happily. We were in a food haven. If you want to dine here, be prepared to arrive early & get your fingers dirty. The queue starts at 7pm & it is a long wait. When people dine here, they will take their time to enjoy the delicious crabs & chicken wings.

Fatty Crab has been around for the longest of time and it has been one of the most popular seafood restaurant in Petaling Jaya, maybe even in the Klang Valley. I must admit that I do not come to eat here very often but when I do is usually for family gathering. Over the years, their selection of crabs have gotten less and less and now I was told they only offer two styles of crabs. As I remembered, their food is really good. The butter crab was something that I always look forward to. Eating crabs mean you gotta get your hands messy and yes it does really get messy. This place is always packed, people keeps coming and without fail I must say they are still keep up to their standards. I do not really fancy the place because of the lack of choices and also because the long wait that is need before getting a table and food.

Being a tropical asian country, Malaysia is blessed with the abundance of seafoods and being a true Malaysian we have a fair share for the love of seafoods. Tropical seafoods like crabs is definitely one of the most sought after seafood delicacies in Malaysia, and by referring to the topic of Crab delicacies, there is one restaurant that you can’t missed. Fatty Crab restaurant is a seafood restaurant that is located in the humble area of Taman Megah. Fatty Crab is a seafood restaurant that is all about crab cuisines only. It is one of the very places to have local crab delicacies, and due to their renowned popularity, Fatty Crab is always packed during the weekends and most customers will be willing to wait patiently for tables and it sometimes take up to an hour for a table. One of their signature dishes here is their Chili Crabs, almost everyone here will order their signature dish, and always order toast bread to go with their gravy is orgasmic! Therefore if you are hungry for Crabs and seafood, look no further and visit Fatty Crab restaurant!

Fuuhhhhh! Always crowded with people. ALWAYS. Well I live close to this area and that’s why I said it’s ALWAYS filled with people when I pass by the restaurant. There are not many options on their menu to be honest. They are famous for their crab and chicken wings. Their menu include the super-called-for sauce, Teow chew style fish, Garlic prawns, chicken satay, Fatty Crab’s signature fried rice, Chicken wings, Spicy and Sour Crab, Toast bread, Sweet & Sour Crab, Steamed crab or fish… So yeah just call for any of this, and prove to the world you were once here :) I am not really a big fan because I’m looking more towards variety of seafood choices. And I don’t really like to wait, especially at a place super near where i stay. I rather eat something else instead. LOL If you haven’t tried before, well maybe com and try once to check out if it suits your taste then :)

If you are a crabs lover, then you should try Fatty Crab, it is one of the famous crabs restaurant in town. However, the price is not cheap, it costs about RM40−50 per person. Moreover, the minimum order for a crab is 600 grams. Fatty crab only serve 2 flavours of crabs, which are original and spicy. They have their own recipes of cooking the sauces, so you won’t be able to find the same taste in other restaurant, and I think this is one of the reason that people keep going back to Fatty Crabs, so am I. LOL! I love both of the flavours, but usually i will order the spicy one only because 600 grams(minimum order) is already more than enough for 2 person servings. Apart from that, I will also order the toast breads and enjoy it by dipping the spicy crab sauce. It is so good! Another highly recommended dish is the fried chicken wings! I would say the best I had so far, must try! *thumbs up* The only down side of the restaurant, is the crowd, which usually I will need to wait for about half an hour. Besides that, with the expected crowd, they do not implement the number system and fully rely on two aunties to remember the sequence of the customers, which I don’t think it is efficient.

It’s been awhile since last time I went to a seafood restaurant. I’m tired of eating chickens and beefs all the time. Hence, I decided to check some interesting restaurants that provide the best seafoods in town. I’ve been to most of the restaurant nearby but there’s one place that I seems to be forgotten — the Fatty Crab Restaurant. Whether their crabs are that fat or not, I had to check it out by myself. Since that place is open for dinner, I decided to eat light during my lunch and skipped my tea time that day. As soon as I got there, I could smell the aroma from the kitchen. So tempting. I asked the server what’s the best dish in here and he told me without hesitate, «it’s the chilli crab sir. Most of the people that come over are ordering that.» So I ordered a plate of Fatty Crab, Chilly Crab, chicken wings and fried rice. The fried rice is not that great but it will getting much more tastier when you eat it with the fatty crab. Undoubtly the best fatty crab that I had for my entire life. The chicken wings were nice, not too overcooked and not too spicy. Such a great addition to the rest of the meals. As for the price, you can’t expect to pay less for a high quality crabs do you? This is the best place for me and probably all of you, crab lovers.

My favourite haunt for crabs is undoubtedly Fatty Crabs in Taman Megah. The place is always packed and parking is a nightmare but I keep going there for the unforgettable crabs and torture myself with the parking woes! I never miss ordering the Sweet and sour crabs which is the shop’s signature dish. The crabs are fresh and sweet and the gravy is heavenly. Order toast bread and soak your bread in the gravy and you feel you are in heaven ! The fried prawns in garlic is pretty good too! If you like fish the steamed fish done in toe chew style is not bad. You can order the fried rice if you need something heavier but crabs for me are the real heroes!

The all time famous place to go for if you’re looking to have crabs for dinner, it’s Fatty Crab of course! It’s located in Taman Megah and there are a few other seafood restaurants around it so make sure you don’t get the wrong restaurant! They have been known for their awesome flavourful crab dishes as well as their crab meat fried rice and satay prawn. They have Spicy & Sour crab which remains the most popular on its menu. Be sure to order their Roti Bakar to dip into the delicious gravy of the crab dishes that you are served. It’s always packed so be prepared to wait if you’re heading over during dinner hours but the wait is worthwhile definitely! This is by far the only crab place I’ve heard people talking about and everyone were very very fond of it. Due to its popularity the weekend crowd can be crazy as you’ll need to line up for about 30 min to get a seat. Thank god we had rice and noodles as the initial course else by the time the crabs arrive we would be famished. I tried two types of their crabs, Kam Hiong and another one is the salted egg crab. The crab is fresh but rather small in size hence there is less meat. One thing though, the dish wasn’t crazy amazing as I heard it would be. Probably because I come from the east coast and I’ve gotten to try seafood that is more fresh and cooked even better. People, I know this place is decent but don’t quit looking! There are better crab places out there, even in Sri Petaling!

Best crab in town! Fatty crab has been around for almost forever. This iconic restaurant attracts people from all walks of life, young and old. They also do not serve pork, so yes, our Malay brothers and sister too can enjoy the food produced at this establishment. Fatty crab prepares their crabs with their signature home-made sweet sour spicy sauce. This sauce is unique only to them. Apart from the crab, the sauce can be enjoyed along with their other side dishes. They serve toasted bread, fried rice, satay and even chicken wings. As for drinks, they serve a wide range of local favourites such as soy bean, sugarcane, coconut and even beer to wash it all down. I’d recommend visiting during off peak hours as the queue gets pretty long during dinner hours.

When it comes to eating crab in Klang Valley or Petaling Jaya area, I believe many of us are familiar with the name Restaurant Fatty Crab at Taman Megah. The restaurant has been in business for years, and the place is always crowded. People would be queuing up at the restaurant to wait for an empty table. Even though they have expanded the shop to the 1st floor, yet there’s still not enough space to accommodate the patrons. So, what’s so special about the crabs in Restaurant Fatty Crab? Well, it’s the gravy they used and you can only get it from the restaurant. Most of the seafood restaurant serves crabs cooked in different style and flavours, but in Restaurant Fatty Crab — there’s only one; which is the Crab in Spicy Gravy. Until today, I’m still unsure do they actually have other methods of preparing the crab but everyone seems to be ordering the exactly same dish. Warning ahead, if you have a weak palate, the dish might be too much for you because the gravy is full with chilies! You’ll get the heat with every bite, but it just gets better and better. Apart from the crab, they are famous for their fried rice too. Yes, you heard me correct — Fried Rice. It’s simple and plain fried rice, but it’s fragrant and flavourful. One thing I have to admit is that the quality does decrease by a little, over the years. Nevertheless, people are still pouring in and willing to stand by the road side to wait for an empty table. After all, this is the only place that you can find crabs cooked in green chilies.
