How difficult is it to find a good place to serve really good and filling salad? A place where they don’t skim on the dressing, the topping and the protein. Well, I have found one of the places which provides all the good things in a bowl. Chai Bar in Oasis Square, Ara Damansara. This little haven was placed in a quiet row of Oasis Square. Decoration is minimal and less jingly jangle stuff. Straight to the basic and less ‘pain in the eyes’ deco. This place was chose by one of my babes. For now, let’s call her YH. So, it’s a post birthday celebration for her. Picked her up and went straight to this place. While waiting for the other two babes, C and J, we were kinda hungry. So we ordered a small bowl of salad. There are two types of salad. 1 — What they have as their fab salad(There are about 10 types). 2 — Customise your own salad. So, we went with the customisation. At first, our combo sounded really weird, but when it arrived, it was GOOD!.. We have baby spinach, cous cous, roasted sweet potatoes, almond flakes, thick slices of beef, tortilla chips and beet root. As for dressing, we went with balsamic vinaigrette. It was filling and good. C came later on. She ordered the thai style salad, Porntip. It has shrimps, raw onions, lettuce, noodles and some other stuff… with a thai dressing(Sour and salty!)…YH and I ordered another round which was Serembro. Mexican style. With avocado dressing, there were mixed lettuce, beef, corn, cheddar cheese, beans, bell peppers and chick peas. Both of it it’s good too! Oh gawd, my stomach was nearly up to the brim. And J was still not here yet! After almost finishing the salad, J finally arrived! LIKEFINALLY! She ordered a customised salad. Okay, it has sesame seed dressing… and the salad consisted of grilled chicken, mixed leaves, tortilla chips, black olives and some other stuff which i can’t remember. Overall experience: 4⁄5(Where else to find good salad?) Price Rating: 3⁄5(Customised salad: between RM13.90−17.90. Recommendation salad: RM16−20) Recommendation for them: DELIVERYSERVICEPLEASE!!!

Decided to give this place a go today since I was visiting a friend who worked in Oasis. The place was decorated with simple interior and furniture. I really liked the concept of choosing/making my own salad. There are also three sizes to choose which is great for small eaters– you can opt for small! The pricing is also really affordable for a salad bar. They also have their very own Fab 10 menu which is pretty cool as well. I chose to order the California Girls from their Fab 10 menu which is actually a Japanese inspired salad with crab sticks, lettuce, carrots, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados, brown rice and wasabi dressing. When my salad arrived, it was huge! I think I took at least half and hour or more to finish my food. I really like how they’re trying to encourage people to eat healthier and changing up dishes like chicken rice to a much healthier version. I think I’d definitely come back to try the rest of their salad bowls in the near future.

How should I start raving about this awesome salad joint? I can’t get enough of it! Being a vegetarian(who eats eggs), I can vouch for this place whenever anyone needs a healthy dose of greens. Started by 2 fitness-loving dudes(yeap, boys who love their veggies!), the choices they offer are fresh and varied. One thing about salad that you must do right is the dressing and these guys have got the science down pat. So on our first visit, my friend ordered from their Fab 10 menu. The Superfood(RM16) came with mixed greens, sweet potatoes, beets, avocado, dried cranberries, quinoa, pine nuts and pumpkin seeds. Now wonder it’s called Superfood, just the sound of it makes viruses quiver in fear. I decided to make my own concoction instead with a base of greens, veggies and beans. A regular sized salad will set you back about RM18 while a small one is RM14 and a large RM23 depending on how hungry you are. A regular bowl allows you to pick 1 base, 5 supplements, 2 premiums, 1 protein, 1 topping and a dressing. Not too shabby for the quality you get! And if you can still stomach a drink, go for their fresh smoothies! We, however were fully satisfied and I can say my meat loving friend is a believer of salads!
