This is one of the first dedicated salad places that opened near me that I would not have to drive far to get too. Parking in the area sucks, so they have a reserved parking spot out front. The food is okay — can’t really go wrong with the pasta dishes and I only ever order one salad on the rare occasion that I’m there for those«I want a salad but too lazy to make one for myself» moods: The Old Granny Caesar salad, which tastes like a regular Caesar salad, minus the creamy and fattening Caesar dressing. The soup of the day is also not bad — it comes to you unseasoned so you can season it to your liking. The broccoli soup is not bad. HOWEVER… the service kinda sucks. It’s very clinical, not very warm unlike some other places I’ve been to. They used to have a Foursquare checkin deal back in the day, but the current management would never honor it, so don’t bother asking about it.

For a place that specializes in salads, their offerings are just mediocre at best. We went for the R.E.D consisting of chicken sausage, red pepper, tomatoes, carrots and grapes(weird) cloaked in Russian dressing. First of, it’s an odd combination of red colored ingredients, not my favorite for sure. The pastas however fared much better on our tastebuds. The spicy chicken pasta(RM12.90) was a simple spaghetti bowl with chicken, chili padi and Thai basil. The heat was just enough to spice up the appetite without blowing a fuse. We also had a dory carbonara with the same noodle but with cream sauce and seafood. If you absolutely despise spaghetti, pastas might not be your go to meal here as that’s the only kind they have, just different sauces. They also have sandwiches and all day breakfast meals but I wouldn’t put too high hopes on these offerings.

Praise the Lord for actually having a salad bar here. I mean, this place here is the real deal. Awesome salads — duh, I mean it’s The Salad Br for a crying out loud, awesome pasta dishes and many more. I like their Aglio Oglio pasta which I usually substitute the meat for more veggies. Other delectable favorites of my family has got to be the Spicy Pasta as well as the Pasta Carbonara. They also has a wide variety of soups, though I must say my favorite has got to be the Cauliflower soup. Made from fresh, pureed vegetables rather than the pre-packed kinds loaded with nasty ingredients. I also like the fct that I can choose what goes into my salads. I always go for the Old Granny’s Caesar Salad, often choosing grains to go with my salad rather than meat and cheese. Prices here are also reasonable as a salad would be below RM15, whilst their soups are around RM3.90. Pastas are below RM10. Did I mention that sandwiches and wraps are also available here? Nonetheless, this place right here would be my go-to health fix. It’s affordable and good for you. Who says you can’t be healthy without spending a bomb?
