Ayam Penyet fans? Please come here if you are one as their ayam penyet is actually really good here. One thing I like about here is that they prepare the food as you order so it’s really fresh and the chicken is warm too, how nice! This compared to some other ayam penyets that I have tried where the chicken is already cold is so different. You might find their prices a bit more expensive than the other restaurants that sell ayam penyet here but if you are someone who appreciates quality of food, you would like this place eventually. Ambience wise, it’s pretty cozy too. Except for lunch and dinner hours, the restaurant isn’t too noisy. So, good place to go if you’re hanging out with friends.

As an Indonesian, I approve this place as a great place to eat. I love coming here once a while, especially when I am missing a really decent spicy food. It reminds me of back home. The place here in Nu Sentral is crowded most of the time, especially during lunch time, so you might want to consider coming there for an early lunch or late lunch. The price range is pretty affordable, I love their original ayam penyet goreng(fried smashed chicken, and you can always order with set that will come with rice and drinks(soda or water) for around RM12++. Other than chicken, they also have Bawal Penyet, udang penyet, bak so penyet, and lele penyet. If you don’t feel like your food to be fried, you can always opt into their grilled smashed chicken. Dipped pieces by pieces of the chicken to their either mild or spicy sambal. I suggest you check out how the mild taste first, because the spicy could really shaken up your stomach few hours ahead if you are not a regular spicy eater. If you would like something green, they also have gado-gado(mixed vegetables), kangkung belacan(spinach), batagor and siomay bandung. Lots of option to try on!

Considering how crowded it was, I was expecting a lot more from them. Having said that, I was honestly quite disappointed with the food here. Here, you have to go to the counter to order and pay — and your food and drinks will be served to you. There’s usually a queue that moves quite quickly. As for the food and drinks, you can expect them a few minutes after ordering — so pretty fast service. For a meal, it usually costs between RM12−18, depending on what you order. I went there for dinner — they only have lunch promotions. I had the ayam panggang(RM9.90), plain white rice(RM1.90), and teh o’ ais. The ayam panggang was just okay. I tried my friend’s ayam penyet(RM8.90) which pretty disappointing. I like their mild sambal though. Generally, nothing spectacular here.

This is the only restaurant where I’ve tried Indonesian food, and I have to say that is not my favourite cuisine. I’ve been here several times, and every time I was disappointed with the food. They don’t have so many options in regards to the food and the chicken is not so amazing. At least for my taste. The sauce which they say that is sweet is so and so… I didn’t like it. The price for the kitchen with rice is around RM12 which is quite good. My friends in stead they love the place and food here. So you can give it a try and see if you like it. The place is quite big, with many tables and they have a nice view in the back of the city.

If you love chicken foods this is your place! It is a Indonesian restaurant that mainly sells«ayam penyet», fried chicken with special spices which enhanced the flavour. To be honest I am not into Indon food except this as it tasted like another KFC which is healthier with rice and my favourite damn hot chilli! I can eat its chilli a lot with my tears coming out but never wanted to stop… It is a semi self-serve restaurant, customers need write their orders on the paper provided, food will be served by the servers but the sauces are taken by the customers at the sauces corner. A ayam penyet meal for 1 person normally costs about RM12, including a rice, chicken, 2 pieces of tauhu and salad. The meal is completely dry and no sauce at all, you will have to grab the soy sauce and chilli if you are those persons who must eat with sauces(I myself will mix the sweet soy sauce with a lot of chilli on the chicken). However I don’t really like its tauhu with a bit of sour taste, don’t get me wrong it wasn’t spoiled but its original taste was a bit sour and fluffy. If you wish to eat something with moist I would suggest the grilled chicken rice with sweet and sour Indon sauce(I prefer this one more). Overall it is a good place for chicken!

My colleagues is a huge fan of Ayam Penyet. We had Ayam Penyet for lunch again! This time we try this Waroeng Penyet inside Nu Sentral Mall. This restaurant is slightly different from the one in KL Sentral. Their sambal comes in 3 variety. Normal, mild and hot(which is super spicy). After experiencing Ayam Penyet from both KL Sentral and this one in Nu Sentral Mall, I kinda prefer this one more. Firstly, the chicken here is somehow bigger, tastier and their price is slightly cheaper too. Besides, this place feels and looked more hygienic. But as for the ‘crispy’ thingy part, Penyet Express’s ‘crispy’ is tastier(my colleagues prefer Penyet Express’s sambal). Both places serve the same kind of food but they both have their own unique point. Another reason I like this restaurant is because it is more spacious too, hence more comfort.
