first visit kl café shop. My lovely cousin treat me to went there try their food n drinks. This café shop is house pattern to selling their food. Besides, exterior design is black and the limited parking and it’s near by swiss garden hotel. ok lest talk about their food. I was read many review or blog from other people eat previous time and they recommended to the dessert so call ’ the King’. I’m a person dun like to eat banana flavor. When my cousin order the cake. First have a bit is so so so nice. I can’t how to describe the taste. Can try ~~

Pricey and trendy but clearly worth the hype. The menu is small(and there are only two or three dishes I want) and the food and drink prices are very, very pricey… But if you’re camping out here for a weekday and needing a good place to work this might be it. It’s also open late, til 11pm, and the good vibes will have you feeling cool for hours. Nice place to hang out with friends or with a laptop.

it’s my favourite café around kl area. I really like their coffee and cakes! you can try their salted waffles as well. as this café is nearby time square, behind police station, it will only have limited car park space available. you will spotted this café easily as it looks like little black house and a cat lay outside the shop. Remember try their best sell cake– The King. It’s peanut cream + banana cake. It tastes different and you will surprise for the texture. Mocha and latte are nice as well. VCR is photo friendly café. :) Will I revisit? Always want to.

We checked out VCR for Saturday brunch as we were staying near by. The building itself is cool and different to KL’s normal cafes. Inside it reminds me of the kind of places you’d find in Melbourne or Auckland. It’s spacious and a mish-mash of old and modern with a clean design. It is definitely a busy place on a Saturday at mid-day, so you’ll probably have a hard time finding a table if you come in a group. We had to sit at the large table with other people which is no problem as it was still big enough to have some privacy but a table to ourselves would have been preferable. We ordered the potato waffle, Turkish eggs and some OJ. Both our brunch dishes were good but nothing amazing. They have fast wifi and cosy spaces with large tables so I imagine if you stop by on a weekday when it’s less busy, it would be a nice place to spend some time chatting or doing some work.

We found this place when we were perusing the bukit bintang area for a brunch plane, and were pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Turkish eggs, which were delicious and tomato-y, and was complimented well with the sourdough bread. The flat white was I ordered was good, not too bitter or milky. My only(big) criticism is that the portions are so small! Both my friend and I were still hungry afterwards, and had to order another dish. For 24rm I expected a bigger portion size!

Stopped in twice for my morning caffeine fix and a late breakfast. First, the coffee is amazing. Had maybe the best iced mocha of my life and a existential cold brew experience. That, being said, even staying on the cheaper side of the menu, I was spending around 35MYR. I don’t mind spending money on great food, but these were some of my most expensive meals in KL. Great space and wifi, food is fresh and tasty, but you’re going to pay for it.

Great coffee if you don’t mind waiting. Took 15 minutes to get two flat whites. Other than that, great ambiance upstairs and the food looked great.

Great coffee, great western inspired breakfast — simply just a great place. The location isn’t obvious, so you’ll have to look for the it, but it is time well spend if you want brunch and coffee.

Great coffee, cakes and breakfast. Nice atmosphere and design inside. A little too pricey.

It’s my second time here, the 1st time I’m here, it was a Sunday afternoon, the atmosphere was totally different from day and night. It’s a nice hipster looking café located in the city center. Is it quite spacious with 2 floors both with indoors and outdoors. Love the huge glass windows on the top floor, which makes the space much more spacious that it is. Great for taking pictures, and ootds:) Drinks and cakes are quite alright, and affordable price. It would be a nice café to chill if you are in the city centre. They open till 11pm, compared to a lot of cafes in kl they only till 9pm or so. One thing about here is it could be quite noisy, as it’s always packed, not really a place to read or do your work on a weekend. Other than that, it’s a great place to hang out with friends!

Good place to chill out with friends, just not so easy to find it out. The brunch set starts from noon, and there are always a queue for ordering coffee and meals.

Came by this place accidentally and fell in love with the atmosphere. Had to come by here twice on a 4 day holiday. The glass windows upstairs really makes this place unique. Try a slice of the King. Highly recommended.

Great coffee place in KL! This pretty industrial-style café opend two years ago just around the corner of hotel Paloma Inn. They serve good coffee, free WiFi and the ambiance is relaxed! Every morning we stop by for a shot of cafeine. If you are in the neighborhood don’t forget to drop by.

The lighting at VCR is pretty nice, they have glass windows which allows the light to shine in perfectly. They have a good variety of cakes and the coffee is really good. They have very good beans I would say and the baristas are all well trained. The only pain about this place is the parking. Parking can be a little tough because there are no designated parking at the area, so you would need to park right outside the café. There are two floors and there is a huge empty room which caters to events and such. There was once an photographer that displayed some of his famous photographs there and people would just order food and coffee. They have a good variety of food and dessert at the café as well.

VCR is really one of the great places in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and if you are looking for a place with a great relaxing environment couple with great coffee and cakes, this is the place for you to spent your precious time. VCR have been established during the coffee/café hype that happened a few years back. One thing about this place is that they have an ample amount of space or seatings to cater to large crowds during the weekends, as they have 2 levels of seating spaces(ground floor and second floor). Although it is situated in an old heritage building, it really feels cozy and comfortable while hanging out in this café. However, there is some minor drawbacks with VCR, and it is the shortage of parking spaces sometimes make it difficult to visit this awesome café, unless you don’t mind parking your car illegally along the main road(which I normally do). Other than that, this is really a great café to hangout with your buddies or your fellow foodies.

VCR is hands down my favourite café in down town. I go there so often, it is known as my second home on the weekends because it is my study place. The place is quite easy to locate and there are parking spots available behind or beside the building. I think the best spots to sit are the tables beside the huge window where there are natural sunlight beaming in. Sometimes, there is a small vase of baby breath flowers near the windows, which I love. Usually I will order a cup of hot latte(sometimes I wish it was milkier) or any of the Tapping Tapir Natural Sodas. They have various types of soda flavor but on the downside it is quite pricey. I have also tried VCR Big Breakfast and the portion is big enough to be eaten by two people. Plus point! They are able to cook the eggs in any style. Yummy(:

There are too many cafes seem to capitalize on the hipster culture. At first glance, VCR seems like the type of café hipsters like to hang out — remodel from a heritage building with an all-black façade. However, the coffees are quite decent here with an extensive choice of desserts. Crowd, as you’d expect are mainly young’uns and sometimes teenagers. VCR isn’t without allure, but there are so many other cafes which serve equally good coffees in town. Unless you are nearby, there’s no point coming all the way down town for a coffee here.

Without the guidance of my friends, I think I will definitely be lost as VCR is situated in a secluded area. To my surprise, it is a small shop lot(more of a house which was turned into a shop). Oh, they call it the«little black house». That makes much sense! First impressions are very lasting. So I thought«Wow! How are they going to accommodate so many customers at once?» It’s true that we waited quite long for a place to sit. I can say that the wait is worth it because as you spring open the doors of VCR, you will be able to smell the rich coffee aroma, and the display of desserts looks awesome! As we ordered our desserts and drinks over the counter, the counter girl was very friendly and accommodating as she recommended us their signature delicacies. For cakes, we ordered the Poppy Seed Cake and Blueberry Cheesecake. Wahlaaaa, we couldn’t succumb the fact that we wanted more Poppy Seed Cake. It was that good! As for drinks, I had Iced Chocolate. It looked like Milo(so I thought it’s going to taste like one, but no it was surprisingly good!). It wasn’t too sweet or too bland. All in all, my friends enjoyed our get together in VCR. I will definitely make another visit in the near future.

One of my coffee-crazed friend have been telling me that this places serve great coffee and how great their coffee is. That it is a must visit if I am going café-hoping. So, during my study break(which is also café-hopping time), I went to give it a try and at the same time chill there to study for my upcoming paper. I had their latte and a piece of cake named ‘The King’. Their latte was alright, I am not a professional coffee drinker. So, as long the coffee is smooth to my liking, I am contented. However, what makes me come back for more is ‘The King’. It’s a peanut butter, banana and chocolate cake. Usually I don’t take anything that comes with banana in it but not this one. To me, ‘the King’ is the MUST-TRY item if you happen to visit VCR.

I would have never expected a café to be located in this area but my waze told me otherwise. VCR has a really great interior design, especially on its second floor where there were seats on their balcony. It has a really hipster vibe in general. I’ve had their flat white and mocha before and both tasted quite good. The cakes there are quite moist and aren’t bad at all. Some of the seats and tables can be quite low but it is not uncomfortable. The only sad thing is that the choices for savory food on their menu is quite limited.
