Looking for a late night supper place in Old Klang road? Look no further than this place! The restaurant is located right along Old Klang road so you will not miss t. I drove by one night and saw the steam of Pao and dumplings gushing into the night sky and I just couldn’t help myself. They have good varieties on their dim sum, one tray for the steamed items and another for the fried ones. The dim sum is quite cold sadly, but the quality of the dim sum is still pretty impressive. Some of their steamed items(siu mai and the siu gao) especially is made delicately with good quality of meat and the fried items like the prawn with mayonnaise is very crunchy and fragrant. I do love the items I mentioned, but everything else, is just so-so. When I paid I realize that the price is rather affordable though and I would come back for some late night(not ultimate) dim sum dinner or supper some day.

Located along the busy Jalan Klang Lama, finding Sing Pao Dim Sum is no difficult task as it’s just a few doors away from a few popular landmarks like the huge Public Bank. You’ll have to make a minor U-turn if you’re coming from Puchong and all the way straight if you’re heading from Mid Valley. The shop has a bright red sign board and steams of freshly made dim sum can be seen as you drive by. This place makes a great late night hang out spot as they are open 24 hours, almost competing with Yan Yan A One and their RM3 per basket promotion. Having a basic knowledge in Cantonese, I did not have an issue picking and ordering my food, but fret not if you do not know Cantonese, Malay will do you good here as well. Going with my standard picks when it comes to dim sum. I picked a basket of siew mai, har gao, fried taro nest, lobak gao, and they even had pai kuat here! There were several hits and misses after an hour battle with the attentive waiters hovering huge baskets over my head. But for the reasonably priced dim sums and efficient service, Sing Pao makes an average place to sip on hot Chinese tea while shoving dim sum pieces into your mouth.

To be honest, I never pay much attention on Sing Pao Dim Sum, until my dad tempted to have dim sum when we had our dinner at nearby restaurant. We got ordered few plates of dim sum and a plate of Chu Cheong Fun. Most staffs are non-local but they managed to understand what we wanted to order. For your information, Sing Pao Dim Sum opens 24⁄7. I never think the dim sum they served would be fresh and delightful. And yes, I was wrong. Sing Pao Dim Sum have exceeded my expectation. All dim sum were juicy and delicious! Seriously, I thought Clan Restaurant serves great dim sum but after I tried Sing Pao Dim Sum, I don’t think I want to return to Clan Restaurant anymore. Next time, when I am craving for dim sum, I can head over to Sing Pao Dim Sum. It was my first time to try out Chu Cheong Fun. Seriously, its Chu Cheong Fun was soft. The sauce was okay with a lot of fillings. Well, there are a lot of other dim sum we didn’t try. But, I am sure I will visit Sing Pao Dim Sum again soon. I want to try how their Char Siew Pau taste like. Overall, I highly recommend you all to try Sing Pao Dim Sum at Old Klang Road. It will not let you down, I promise!
