If you’d like a glimpse of what a bar in the UK is like, Sid’s pub feels like the real deal. Staff service is decent but slow on busy days. Food is great! I really love their shepherd’s pie and my friends were enjoying the alcohol. Nice place to just hang out with friends.

This stretch of road in TTDI used to be the ‘in place’ to hang out and was crowded. However, thanks to new dining areas popping out during past few years, here has become less vibrant. This is actually a silver lining in the clouds. Now it is easier to find a parking lot, we don’t have to jostle for a table and the air is purer due to fewer smokers. Sid’s Pub is a nice place to catch up with friends, enjoy pub grub & beer or even to cheer on your favourite football club/tennis player. The only gripe I had was Sid’s wait staff refusing to give us the biggest table in the restaurant, even though, my friend told him there would be 8 of us. Instead, the biggest table was given to a group of 4 who arrived later than us. It was an uncomfortable squeeze.

Got to know about this place through my bestie. During one of her birthday, her other half was working overseas and couldn’t celebrate with her. Hence my other half and I celebrated her birthday over here in Sid’s Pub. The reason we are here was because this is one of her favorite hangout place. My other half and my bestie had Strongbow cider and Guiness. As for me, I remember coming here and asking for laicheetini but they doesn’t have it in their menu. However they still do it for me. They actually went to the nearest grocery store to buy a can of laichee and make me my favorite cocktails. I’m really really amazed by their service. As for food, my other half had their fish and chip, I had their pork burger and my bestie goes for her all time favorite shephard’s pie. We had a really great time there over their food. I’m so satisfied with my lycheetini. One of the best pub I’ve ever been to. Superb service.

Gone are the days. Sid’s pub used to be the popular kid on the block until the other bars moved in. I used to enjoy coming here to enjoy their authentic English bar food. However, over the years the quality of food has dropped and so have the number of customers. It’s still got the nice European vibe to the setting but now that the crowd has dispersed its a little more quiet than it used to be. However, the beer here is still as good as it used to be. Good to see that they didn’t water down the beer as an effort to save cost. The service here is really good and the waiters always serve with a smile. Parking in the area is an issue thought, so I’d recommend coming abit earlier to get a spot.

I used to tell my friends that Sid’s was the best pub in KL. At one time, I believed it too. The food was proper English grub and the service was always good. But recently, my trips have been disappointing and it’s made me sad because it’s so difficult to find a good English pub. On my last visit, the shepherd’s pie I ordered was fridge cold in the middle and the potato on top was so clearly burnt I was surprised the chef agreed to even let it leave the kitchen! But the beers here(especially the stout) are still good. It’s one of the few bars that don’t dilute their alcohol, but this also means you’re paying a bit more than RM20 for a pint.

A favourite watering hole among friends, you can depend on Sid’s to give you a laid-back and relaxing night after a hard day’s work. I like that the pub is spacious, so even if the table nearby are having a loud discussion, it will hardly bother you. Serving traditional British pub food, a must try would be the BBQ Pork Ribs. According to my mother’s humble opinion which she insists I write down, Sid’s also serve one of the best Guinness drought in town, along with other types of alcohol. Another thing to note, Sid’s is pet friendly, what with alot of their customers coming down from the Groming Parlour just a few shops away.(the owners, not the dogs)
