Fancy some Korean cuisine? If you are in Cheras Leisure Mall, this may be one of the many places around for you to dine and enjoy some korean dishes. It is an opened concept where there is no specific or dedicated shop to dine here. However, you can actually dine upstairs if you wished — more seating place. However, this korean cuisine is solely managed by foreigners and the food or services is really bad. They are not attentive and are very ignorant to serving your needs. This place is usually not crowded, perhaps because of the service. Food wise just okay and not great, I have been here once and didn’t think I will ever come back again. So it is up to you to decide and maybe luck was just not by my side!

Oiso is a Korean restaurant on the upper floor of Leisure Mall’s main building(the one where Popular bookstore is at). I went there with a Korea fanatic friend before she left for Australia. If I go to a Korean restaurant, there are two things that I’d always think of getting, and that would be anything kimchi based and dukbokki — Korean rice cakes dipped or drenched in sweet hot sauce. So I did. I got myself a bowl of kimchi ramen and we shared a plate of dukbokki. The ramen wasn’t very spicy, which was a good thing for me. The dukbokki came with onions, a few slices of bell peppers, some shiitake mushrooms, and squid, drenched in a light red sweet sauce. The sauce wasn’t thick, so it didn’t stick much to the rice cakes. The whole dish was topped with some sesame and black sesame that added a bit more fragrance to it. There were side dishes served as well, although minimal. They were served individually on the tray when our food came.
