I’m really only here for the Shahi — Arabic tea with mint. It’s really refreshing and easy to drink without overly strong mint taste. Depending on the time of day, it can get fairly packed, especially with smokers sitting outside. But, that’s OK for me because I need the indoor air conditioning. This is a great place to meet young attractive members of society from all racial backgrounds. The food is decently priced BUT not large in portion. Background music is soft and not overpowering. Attractive Arabic themed decorations.

Truth to be told, I’m not a big fan of coffee, nor tea. I am more to chocolate lover. I once had a bad experience with ordering coffee in an urban themed café :(I was here for work actually. During my internship, my boss happens to be Mukha owner’s friend. We organized an event here. Weeks before the event, I spent most of my time here doing recce — the equipment, the layout, the décor and all sort. I went there by taxi so I have no issues with the limited parking there. But for those who drives here, I feel you. *taps on the shoulder* I’ve been eyeing on the Mukha’s décor the first time I get here. Personally, when I first arrived, I didn’t expect it as a café. I thought is was some some of furniture store! The furniture are artsy and way above rare, something classical, vintage and rustic. Almost the main element to capture the urban target market. One other thing that contributes to pulling factor for demand to this café is the menus itself. This café emphasizes on Middle East’s menu which is currently highly demanded in KL city. This café is fully operated by a Muslim family so there’s no need to doubt for the halal-ness. The price is average, worth every penny. I even had the chance to work with Yuki, the artist whom responsible for all the chalk art in the café. She’s really lovely, same goes to the owner, Kuman and his wife. :)

I’d say that Mukha would be the first«cool» hipster trendy restaurant to hang out at. It’s in Taman Tun in the same block as Maybank. They serve fushion food and on their menu are things like pasta, steak but everything is «home cooked» and served in a creative way. There’ something about eating those type of food in independent stores like this. How they serve it is always different. When attempting to try this place, please please please try their pumpkin soup. We don’t find many spots in town that serve pumpkin soup, let alone delicious ones. I assure you won’t regret it and the taste will keep lingering in your mouth until now. Don’t even worry about the staff because they are super friendly!

I came here twice. First was to take away a slice of cake for my ex-girlfriend. The second time was to chill with my bro. I do like the ambience as it sort of brings me back to those cabin like houses with a touch a wooden furniture. It kinda reminded me of my late grandparents house for some reason. I orderes the cheesecake to give it a try after hearing it from my bro who visited this place more than a dozen times. Indeed, he was right the cake was good. It was rich in cheese and that really filled me up good. I wanted to go for a drink as they have a wide range of selection to choose from, sadly last call happened when I was halfway through enjoying the cake! I would definitely visit this place back to give the drinks a try. Be warned though, at night after dinner time, finding a parking might be an issue as they are many other cafes and bars located at that area!

Mukha is a Middle Eastern inspire café that has been winning hearts, or rather stomachs, of its customers for a long time now. Their Arab Tea is certainly a crowd pleaser as many a table had ordered some when I was there. Infused with mint leaves, it certainly is a change from the usual coffee craze that has been going on. One good thing about this place is that it is joined by an old-fashioned bake shop right net to it called Souka, which serves up the best Mars Cheesecake I’ve ever had. So you can go ahead and order from both stores and it will be delivered to you. Note that in Mukha wou will have to go to the counter and place your order which will then be delivered to you.

Great cakes. They’ve got a wide selection of home made baked goods at the left side of the shop. Their menu is pretty extensive and you will definitely find something that you like. Great place to hang out with friends and catch up. The seating area outside gets abit stuffy at times. It’s in a great location. However during peak hours, parking is scarce.

This place existed way before KL jumped along the café hype. I’ve been here twice(both on work occasions) ever since I’ve gotten back from Melbourne. I still remember they used to make a mean red velvet cake. However, because it’s the Chinese New Year week and I’m «trying» to cut on my calories intake, I’ve opted for the Red Velvet CUPcake instead. What I would consider a good red velvet cupcake/cake is its cream cheese frosting and the overall texture. Judging by its taste, I know that they didn’t skimp on using quality ingredients — the taste of the cream cheese is pronounced(which is always a plus in my books) and I couldn’t detect the cheap buttery taste. The flat white was pretty decent — the only downfall is that they don’t have skim milk here. Prices are very reasonable with RM10 for my coffee and RM6 for the cupcake. Other brunch food prices average around RM18. The ambience is pretty sweet. It’s depicts a very hipster-ish persona with random vintage sofas and hanging pashminas. I think they’re pashminas… they look like one anyway. The space is cozy and cool — a nice escape from the hot humid temperature outside. There is an outside seating area with power plugs around(for charging your laptop/phone). Free wifi is available here as well which is super handy for people like me. The only downfall is that it’s difficult to find parking around the area. More often than not, you’ll have to circle the block multiple times to find a decent spot or you’ll have to park a block/two away. Also the crowd could get a little noisy at times so bring your earphones/headphones if you’re trying to get some work done.
