Mai Bar

A bar with a view.
Maibar is located at the aloft hotels in KL sentral. The bar is on the same floor as the swimming pool.
When we arrived, we were shown to the bean bag seating area. The bean bags were pink! The view from the rooftop was amazing and even more beautiful thanks to the good weather.
Maibar is well known for their cocktails. We ordered some and they were really refreshing. Each cocktail is made to order and is hand shaken to perfection. Definitely one of the best cocktails in town!
I heard that the view is even better at night as you can see the skyline of the entire city lit up by the lights.
Will definitely be back for a second round soon!

This Tiki-​themed sports bar gives you a swanky view of the city, you’d definitely need a couple of minutes to absorb the beauty. This is not your traditional relaxed rooftop bar instead expect to have a more pumped up feel. Listen to the cheerful & loud conversations, DJ’s spinning some hot house beats & of course clinging glasses.
This themed bar showcases some real contemporary deco’s combined with some vibrant colors. There is also a swimming pool located in the middle of the open area with beanbags scattered on the side of the balcony area for people to chill & gaze at the amazing view.
We arrived here after dinner & went straight for their specialty house cocktails. I kicked it off with the Mai Tai which was served in a cute tiki styled glass. The concoction of rum, berries & even lime leaves made this drink sensational. Another favorite was the Belle Fizz, which is simply the combination of rum, a mixture of berries & lime juice, simple sweet & really fresh!
This place plays host to many events, so do check in earlier if they are having in schedule as you might want to avoid it if they are too crowded. It gets pretty hot in there even though the AC is on full blast, there’s no door leading to the open area so all the cool air is lost making it very humid at times.

Mai Bar is located at the highest floor in Aloft KLS and it is known as one of the best rooftop bars in Kuala Lumpur area. You can see a huge contrast from its design of Polyneisan’s Tiki wooden blocks to an outdoor swimming pool, funky chairs and dark trendy tables in the bar. A cigar room is also available at the end of the bar. You may notice there is no duplicate wooden block as all of them are made differently on purpose!
Happy hour starts from 5pm to 9pm daily with cheaper beer and wine offers. Good news for ladies as it has ladies night on every Thursday, ladies get free beverages from 7pm to 9pm on that day! One must try beverage is Mai Bar’s signature cocktail, the Malaysian Princess Mai Tai. which served in a Tiki-​themed mug (I love that one!)~ Besides, birthday cocktail is also another special thing here which is served in a baby bottle (super cute!). There is also different DJs performances each week so so let’s go and rock the party!!!

Decorated to look like a swanky tiki hut, Maibar is Aloft’s poolside, roof tob bar that sits at the highest level of one of Kuala Lumpur’s newest contemporary hotels, overlooking the KL skyline. From a distance, the blue tinged lighting put me just the slightest as it made me think of less-​than sanitary, seedy karaōke joints but once you get closer, the décor is actually pretty cool. If forced to describe it, I would compare it to a hip Polynesian inspired getaway. A stone’s throw away from KL Sentral, it works well as a transit bar for people looking to get away from the sedate process of travelling between points A to B, especially during the later hours of the day. The fact that it’s located in a hotel means that quite a number of guests flock to this particular venue to avoid being cooped up in a luxe but sometimes lonely hotel room. Drinks here are competitively priced and there are a couple of novelty cocktails worth trying. The bar’s signature Malaysian Princess Mai Tai is pretty damn tasty. It is a concoction of rum, blueberries, pineapple juice and a bunch of other tropical tasting fruits all served in a Tiki mug. Good for starting the night with, sure the name will garner you a bunch of emasculating stares if you happen to be a dude ordering this drink but to hell with that because it tasted nice and it made me feel pretty.

One of the most beautiful infinitive pools that I’ve ever seen. You can enjoy your yummy cocktail overlooking the beautiful skyline of Kuala Lumpur.
Food is not expensive, you can get a salad for 16 RM. However, their tea is 8RM. This doesn’t really make sense, but it’s just the way it is.
You can choose if you want to sit on a fancy high chair or on a bean bag, you can have it all at Maibar. Enjoy !
