Fong Lye offers delicious authentic Taiwanese cuisine, but the pricing were a little on the high side. We went there for my dad’s birthday dinner, and we had an enjoyable meal that night. While waiting for our dishes to be served, we were served with appetizer of our choice. The Stewed Chicken with Rice Wine, Soy Sauce and Sesame Oil was superb! The chicken was tender and it fell off the bone easily. The gravy was super flavourful — the fragrance of the rice wine and sesame oil along with the pleasantly bitter dark soya sauce. This is definitely a dish that could get you asking for extra rice. I was glad that we ordered the Sliced Beef with Spicy Sauce too. The beef were thinly sliced and have a pleasant bite to it. The chili and garlic in the sauce tied up the entire dish perfectly. They have limited space and the each table was arranged quite close to each other. It’s also advisable to make reservation instead of walking in, even though if you are not going in a big group.
