Chinoz KLCC is a really nice place to chill and chat over a cup of coffee. They serve pretty good food here too but too expensive for the quality that you get. Like you can get better quality food at Bens for half the price. I like coming here to have coffee and desserts and you have to sit outside by the park. Its really nice to sit by the fountain and enjoy the fresh air although there are many smokers around. The layout of this restaurant is really nice, give it a very modern and chilled out feel. If you sit inside its very airy and spacious lots of foreigners diner here too. The service is good and they open till pretty late on weekends so thats good too.

From the quality and presentation of the food to the low key ambience, Chinoz is best described as a classy and sexy place to dine. One can’t help but be blown away by the amount of choices and varieties the moment you flip open the menu. Whether it’s sushi and sashimi, steak, pasta, pies, pancakes, finger foods, local or Western and everything else in between, Chinoz has it all. The dessert and beverages menu is nothing short of impressive as well. Of course, this kind of quality and experience comes at a higher price, but Chinoz is a place worth treating yourself to occasionally. If I do have one issue with the restaurant, it is the way they handle noise and commotion. When I was there with a friend, the table next to us was a family with small children screaming and running around the place while the parents did absolutely nothing. Such incidents are not only an annoyance, but can be disruptive to other diners. We asked the staff if they could please at least talk to the parents to mind their kids or sit the family outside, in consideration of other diners, but nothing was done. Aside from this one minor problem, dining Chinoz is something I would gladly indulge myself to occasionally.

I used to come here a lot for breakfast meetings in my former life and I loved their breakfast buffet spread. At that time, for less than RM20 you could have unlimited Nasi Lemak, a choice of pastries and cereals and juices. I would gorge myself silly on their Nasi Lemak for the simple reason that it was decent, it was hot and it was a BUFFET. After their renovation due to a fire, their prices increased somewhat though still pretty OK I guess considering they are in KLCC and at a prime location — just across the water fountain. If you were taking a stroll outside Suria KLCC grounds near the water fountains, you would definitely notice this restaurant. The ambience of this place is very nice, I definitely prefer the look after their reno. Their staff are friendly and attentive as well. In terms of their food, I can say it’s just average. I do like their pavlova though. Oh and in case you didn’t know, Chinoz is one of the few restaurants inside KLCC to have their own washroom. Huge plus points for me here as sometimes when I eat elsewhere in KLCC I have to make a long trek just to pee. Overall, this is a great place to have a cup of coffee or tea and do a bit of people-watching.

I think the only reason Chinoz has become such a popular restaurant is because of its prime location. With a view of the fountain right in the middle of KLCC? That’s the money shot. Chinoz is a modern, casual dining spot. Having undergone a renovation last year, it’s looking a lot more attractive now. The offerings are Italian-inspired but not quinessentially. Food is pretty decent otherwise unspectacular. We dropped by during lunch hour and ordered from their set lunch meal, which is pretty value for money. RM35++ for 2 course meal with a drink. The lamb shack we had was beautifully prepared and flavorful. The appetizer was a colorful salad which was quite decent. Apart from lunch menu, the tea time menu is worth trying. The absolute must-try is the peanut butter cake! Simply delicious. But for your money, best skip the platter. Come during early evening, it’s a popular spot for white-collars who are looking to down a few pints. Again, it’s the casual vibe that brought us back again and again.

With a name that could very well be the name of an Italian with an exceptionally long nose, Chinoz is credited to be one of the better buffet destinations to go in KLCC, and perhaps one of the better ones out there. Of course, that could be a hoax. The ambience is admittedly inviting, with the lights and the décor being brightly stamped in your memory so as to further entice your stomach to get more food on your plate. However, you might find some of the dishes being a little disappointing due to the lack of quality control; you may find your chicken undercooked with the taste of blood and the color of it being brushed all over the drumstick, or the fish being a tad too bland and rough due to the amount of time spent cooking on it. That, of course, is my opinion. You may find yourself enjoying this place if you have not tasted other buffet places, as the price is not as appetizing as it might seem to be. I mean, you would not want to enter the hospital due to some undercooked chicken, right?

So I had this buffet dinner for my alumni university dinner at this restaurant. They served soft shell crab, rice, chicken drumstick gravy and various sweet desserts and fruits. I didnt really enjoy the buffet dinner as I find some of the dish undercooked and overcooked. I do like the ambience as it is cozy and comfortable. The staffs are friendly and polite. The dessert however is good. The cheesecake was rich in cheese and cold. The chocolate cake was a little sweet due to the generous amoubt of icing on top of it. Overall, my experience in the restaurant was good but not great, but if probably for you guys could be the opposite!

I would say its a very trendy and hip place. You’ll see a mix of a crowd there. On weekdays, the place is mostly filled up with the office crowd whether its for lunch or happy hour. Weekends however you’ll be able to see more families, youngsters hanging out with friends and also tourists. I think one of the reasons why its so popular is because of its location where you could have a view of the lake, the twin towers, cozy lighting and al fresco dinning area. I usually would sit outside(unless if its raining of course!) Its still covered but you would still get splashes of water from it. The food is good and so are the desserts. Particularly the brownie for me. Chocolate and ice cream always makes me fuzzy. Coffee is alright, but i do find that their lattes sometimes can be a little too milky(yes i know lattes are made of 20% coffee and 80% milk but you cant hardly taste the coffee sometimes) And that is not a good thing. However their staff is very helpful, friendly and attentive. I think having these qualities is very important when you’re waiting tables.

Chinoz is a great place to start a night out. For me, particularly, after attending a concert at Dewan Philharmonik Petronas, I like stopping by Chinoz for a glass of wine and a quick dinner before going out. I recommend the hummus with pita bread and the mushroom soup. The service is really good, the food is great and for good value. The ambiance is elegant but chill, with seating options inside or out. I really like and recommend this place!

I occasionally pop by Chinoz for a glass of evening tea when I’m at KLCC just because I enjoy the view you get from here. It overlooks the water fountain area(also opposite DOME) and it’s lovely especially in the evening. They serve Western and Asian food, cakes, small bites, tea’s, coffee and wine so you have a wide selection of food to choose from. That last time I was there I just had a honey and lemon tea. The waiters were ok, they seem busy all the time because Chinoz is always packed with people. I thought their toilet was pretty cool because it’s behind a hidden door that doesn’t even look like a door. Almost seems like you wouldn’t know they have a toilet if you don’t ask!

Chinoz on the park is a staple of KLCC. If you work in the twin towers, Chinoz becomes like a second home very easily. While I don’t think Chinoz nails every aspect of their operation, it has some very endearing qualities and I have grown to love it for them. First of all, Chinoz has the unique advantage of location. It’s so convenient to meet friends in groups of any size, inside or out and they are always the last place to close. Beer and wine are where the deal is to be had. They have very reasonably priced pints of beer. It’s taps are the usual Tiger, Asashi and Hoegarden. I have always found their beer prices to be reasonable as far as KL prices go and they usually have some kind of special going as well. Happy hours at Chinoz are definitely a bargain. The outdoor seating is nice on a clear day and the staff is happy to let you change tables and move around if you are there in a big group after work. My biggest criticism of Chinoz is the inconsistency in their food. Some days I will order the rainbow roll and it comes out looking phat and delicious, while other days it comes out looking like someone threw it together in 20 seconds and plopped it on a plate. I have found this to be the case with everything on their menu. For the image and price tag that Chinoz puts forward, I think there could be a little more quality control of what ends up on customer’s plates. One last thumbs up to Chinoz; they have a great wine selection. It is not the most enormous I have seen but the owner clearly has a passion for fine wine. The house pours are all solid wines. They do not carry any undrinkably cheap merlot to sell you for RM15. The house Pinot Noir is really not bad and if you want to spend a little extra you can try the Rua Pinot Noir from New Zealand. It is one of my favorite wines but it is rare and hard to find. I was so pleasantly surprised to find it at Chinoz! If you have a taste for wine Chinoz is surely one of the better options in KL.

I have been coming to this place since I was in college. It is the only place in KLCC which offers a decent view, not overly crowded(except on Fridays and weekends) and the service is tip top. Writing this entry I’m already salivating for the blueberry crumble which used to be my favourite dessert of all time. We used to order two of it at a time when we were younger. Alas, age caught up with us, our metabolism rate isn’t what it used to be and our waistlines could no longer bear the stress(three or four of us would share just one piece now…) I would stare in awe at all the sharply dressed professionals grabbing their quick lunches and Happy Hour Beers, and now, I am fast becoming one of them. Now who said that dreams don’t come true? It means a lot to me to have a place such as this which is as meaningful to me as I was growing up and these are the kinds of places that will forever have a special place in my heart for as long as I live. Now that I’m all grown up, I would order the Aglio Olio in my sexy, deep, grown up voice and ask for a glass of house pouring red because that’s my two favourite things to consume whenever I’m there. The Oglio is made just right without the garlic overpowering the other element, something you could expect from a restaurant of this calibre. Go ahead, treat yourself at one of my favourite places to be since I was a teen until I’m well into my twenties. Hope you have the same experience as I do.
