We were having dinner at one of the restaurants outside of KLCC when one of our friends suggested that we go drinking after that. I have heard of Casbah which is an Arabian-style lounge but have never been there myself and I quickly suggested the place. My friends agreed and off we went. Casbah is located at the side of Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the entrance is small but majestically done, one can already imagine what to expect inside. I wasn’t disappointed as I took the stairs going down and stepped into the lounge. It was intoxicating, so lavishly decorated with Moroccan lampshades hanging off the ceilings, private booths with draping on the sides, a comfortable looking lounge in the middle it was magical and I was ready for my magic carpet ride. We took a seat in the middle lounge to really get a ‘feel’ of the place. Albeit being small, the decorator has succeeded in planning it in a way so that the space can comfortably house up to 200 people at a time. We were soon handed with our menus and was taken aback by the prices, a little bit on the high side for my taste but it was well worth it for the ambience. The cheapest bottle of house red was about rm200 which we had a couple of. I liked the fact that it was cosy and beautiful, props to the interior decorator! I left with a nice buzz in my head and some decorating ideas for my home.
