Fresh oysters at 3 in the morning? I found it here. Nuff said isn’t it? The excitement of getting something you want at this hour, and something that is unusually hard to get at this hour is definitely a satisfaction. This is a restaurant bar in the always busy Telawi road and as the name suggests, it’s a place you could count on for fishes and shellfish. Being in Bangsar, you would be able to guess the price list for this place. But again, while you’re in Bangsar, you’re looking more for the quality of the food, instead of a big bargain for seafood. It has a very hip and festive vibe to the place, and it’s very much a relaxing place to hang out with friends and family. I couldn’t comment much on the other things apart from their oysters and beer, but I’m returning for sure. They have happy hours for oysters as well here, so you know — if you’re a fan of it!

The food is good, I reccomend you start with the bruschetta which is basically topped with burata and smoked pepper. Then order the Fisherman’s pie, crab farfalle and barramundi risotto. Also get the oysters which are pretty decent. They have the Irish farmed oysters and large oysters as per the server, though both look the same size. Whilst the food is good, the staff have a lot to learn, especially their own menu and what to reccomend. You’d think that being in Bangsar and the prices they sell they expect people of a certain level to give them their custom and tey should be prepared for questions like«What do you reccomend?», but no, they have no idea. I constantly got the answer«oh I’m new here, so I don’t know», so I said«why don’t you get someone who knows to serve us?» We ordered the bruschetta and some fries but the guy said oh no you can’t have fries on your bruschetta, hahahahahha! So the only reason I go back is for the food, but better know what to order, cause the staff don’t.

Bait is an expensive seafood restaurant that would be a good place for special occasions. Some of the most famous dishes here are the mussels which are steamed then served cold without an sauces whatsoever. You may think this sounds awful but it was actually pretty good. Bait serves this type of seafood called yabbies, which is pretty much a lobster that looks like a prawn. Its pretty good and can rarely be found in restaurants around the Klang valley. They also make really good desserts, my favorite is the ice cream topped with 12 different types of chocolate, sounds so delicious right? trust me it was. Any seafood lover who is willing to spend some extra cash should definitely give Bait a try.

Calling all seafood lover to Bait! I love love this place, especially I do love fresh oyster. Bait offers you a great selection of fresh oyster in a really good deal, do come for happy hour, before 8PM including weekends, or pay normal price for RM8 to RM11 each oyster(Selections are from UK, French, Tasmanian and sometimes seasonal oysters are served here). The place itself is very eye-catching with this neon pink light grabbing your attention especially later on the night and place are not as big as el mason or social, but it’s always packed with people having their seafood fiesta. Other dishes they proved are yabbies for RM88 poached in saffron and champagne served with mustard dips. It is very fresh and even better than the one I tasted in Jogoya. Their mussels will ring the bell of heaven in your ear! It is served with barley malt syrup and it will cost you for about RM55++. But no worries for those of you who don’t feel like eating seafood they also provide other non-related seafood like their duck confit and wavy beef. A must place to visit if you are popping by Bangsar!

Fish and chips are simply amazing here. So fresh and so worth it considering the bangsar area and such. Oysters are very fresh as well, you can take your pick at their very own oyster bar. There are also certain nights where they would bring in performers for entertainment. It can get pretty full during weeknights and such so make a reservation if you’re planning on a group or date dinner. The service is pretty good. I liked how attentive the waitresses were. The menu was mainly on seafood, obviously. The clam chowder was pretty delicious as well. I brought a couple of different group of friends there and they all enjoyed it. It has a cozy yet opening vibe to the place.

Bait’s hip décor will attract anyone walking past the row of restaurants in Jalan Telawi. The restaurant is known for their seafood so be sure to order a bucket of fresh oysters when you pay them a visit. I opted for the classic fish and chips with beer batter and surprisingly it was executed well. I will usually feel stuffed after going through the rich batter but Bait’s version of the batter was light enough so I polished the whole thing off. Served with a side of tartar sauce which was homemade and crispy french fries, this was a classic dish that was done right. My partner’s seafood pasta however wasn’t very good as it had a strong seafood smell. Pricing is not cheap here as a dish would cost you at least RM20 and above so be prepared with enough cash. The restaurant was empty when I came on a saturday night so I adjourned elsewhere for drinks as it was too quiet.

Is it a restaurant or is it a bar? Or is it a seafood place with DJs spinning music? We are rather confused about this space at Bangsar Telawi. For starter, they serve seafood. Come during Happy Hours, they even have fresh oysters on promo. If you ask us, oysters and white wine seem to pair very well here. If you stay late on Friday and Saturday night, they have DJs spinning funky tunes. But due to the limited space, no one was dancing. And perhaps it is not important what this place was first set out to do, as long as the crowds keep coming back.

«Happiness is a glass away» Bait has said it right! This has got to be my favorite hang out place in Telawi. Its perfect for a small group of friends to go to catch up, dine and enjoy a glass of the occasional wine. They’re also known for their seafood and what seems to be most popular are their fresh oysters. I cant comment much on them as im not a fan of oysters but from what ive seen they seem to be enjoyed by many. During the weekends theres usually a line up of hip djs entertaining you with grooves such as nu disco, old school rnb and music from the 80’s. The place isnt that big and its usually crowded fast, so be sure to call in first to avoid any disappointment.

If I was a mermaid I would be one that suffers a severe existential crisis, for I would sashimi the shit out of my underwater crustacean and marine pals. So pure is my love for a decent contemporary seafood restaurant that when I came across Bait restaurant, it didn’t take me long to finally commit to a long term relationship. On my inaugural visit, I had the octopus salad which was the bomb diggity, it was well seasoned, the dressing was flavorful but not overpowering, the greens were crisp and fresh, none of them soggy nonsense one tends to get with salads and oh the octopus, was juicy, tender and lightly charred to perfection. The bulk of the menu were to my liking but another standout had to be the clam soup which was very robust but light with a nice hint of spice, clams were well cooked and still retained its natural sweetness and the only issue being its demure portion.

This is one of the coziest and classiest diners in Bangsar. It is definitely the only place that will serve you exclusive seafood, cold white wine and cheese. They have a nice variety of clams and they serve everything in a very fancy manner. You will get your clams served in a bucket on ice with a piece of lemon and if you order a plate of cheese you will be served on a wooden plate with the most tasty cheese you can get in Malaysia. You don’t have to reserve your spot in advance, but I would suggest to go to this place only with a few people, it’s not designed for big parties. They have seating outside and inside and what I like about this restaurant is that the area is very nice and alive, so when you sit outside, you can experience lively crowd. There are many restaurants laid out on the street and it’s just pleasant to be in a busy weekend atmosphere. It is a pricey restaurant, but where did you get good clams and white wine that is cheap in Kuala Lumpur?
