Very poor service! Came here for some coffee and cake. They served the cake in 10 mins and took another 30+mins for the coffee and tea! We had to ask the waiter multiple times where our drinks were. It’s not that they were short handed, they had staff standing around not knowing what to do. We used to love coming to Alexis but not anymore

So disappointed with the tiramisu that everyone said its the best they ever had. You clearly don’t know what’s real tiramisu. Taste and look no where near it. This taste like shit. So bad I don’t even want to take a photo.

Depending which Alexis outlet you go to you will get a different experience, unfortunately not all experiences are wonderful. I have been twice to Alexis in Gardens mall, Mid Valley and neither experience was spectacular, the furnishing are dirty, wait staff are inattentive and the ambience in general is not classy. However if I go to the Alexis in BSC I know that the service, food and ambience will be great. The food is really nice, simplistic and flavorful. I am a big fan of the tarragon chicken and always have the tiramisu cake for dessert. I like the cake but it is in no way tiramisu — actually it has nuts on it and a berry sauce so I don’t know how they call it tiramisu… it’s good though!

My love for Alexis has started since the first bite of their tiramisu — really. Of course, their tiramisu might not be everyone’s tiramisu, as some people will find it a bit too sweet for the syrup coating on the nuts. I’m not someone who loves sweet somethings that’s overly sweet either, but the layers under the coating was almost irresistible — or it just is actually. That is — layers of chocolate, cream and cheese stacking and overlaying on one another — enough said about the tiramisu? Okay, not just their food here, the place itself has a pretty comfy ambience, with a secluded sense and they actually have a section here which is smoking area. This definitely makes it convenient for a lot of people who wouldn’t want to walk all the way to outdoor just to get a cigarette. Okay, let’s talk about the food again. People who are familiar with Alexis would know that this is not just a Western’s place — they are actually Asian Fusion and they have a lot of very interesting Asian dishes on the menu for sure. Nasi goreng Kerabu? You name it,(mostly) they have it. One of the dishes that I like would also be their Vietnamese beef noodles soup — not too bad a phở to be expected from a restaurant like this. Prices of course isn’t entirely on the cheap side, but look at the environment and quality of food — I would say that the price list is pretty fair too. And, yes — they have a full bar here, which sells cigarettes too. So, a great night out here after some good dinner at the same place? — yes, you can do that.

While I’m here I might as well review. Alexis is a small but stunning restaurant inside of the gardens mall. I had a wonderful upscale atmosphere and has many different types of dishes. As a traveler having food which represents a country is important but this is a wonderful place to take a break from exploring Malaysia’s local cuisine. That being said the food was well done. I had medley of food here including the linguini with clams, mushroom ravioli, salmon sandwich, beef noodle soup, and the tiramisu. Everything had great flavor and the portion sizes were generous. If you are ever in the mall looking for western or European food. Stop by.

Nice environment and average service. The famous Tiramisu is overrated and the Mix Berries Meringue was a tinge too sweet.

Alexis is by far the most overrated restaurant that I have eaten in Malaysia by far, and it is also the name of my car, although I grab its phallic part to drive all the time, I mean– Oops, off topic. Anyway, Alexis is the destination for all off-stationers to come and enjoy, because this is about the only place they know. Anyway, food wise, the price is a little steep, and the food itself tastes a notch higher than its other competitors, possibly because of the placebo effect that everything you pay must taste good, or just the fact that they have pretty good ingredients. Jokes aside, I do think this is the place to go if you really want to taste overpriced food. Other than that, steer clear from this institution, and you may find better options than this place.

I don’t think I have ever ordered a dish that tasted bad at Alexis. I have enjoyed everything from their appetizers to their pastas, pizzas and desserts. I am particularly a huge fan of the bread and butter pudding and their pavlovas. What makes Alexis different is they are one of the few places that provide live music. They have a good and wide selection of red and white wines as well. So this really is a great dinner place when you combine good music, wine and live music. Actually, it’s also a really nice place for a romantic dinner. Another perk with this restaurant is that you will have free wifi access.

What I love about Alexis is their Jazz nights every Friday and Saturday. The atmosphere is lively, yet soothing for a jazz fan like me. They even hold a songwriters night every now and then and the place really gets packed up for this. My advice would be to go a little earlier and have dinner so that you’re guaranteed a table. Do also check their website as they update it frequently with the new performances updates. Prices here are pretty steep with most main dishes being well over RM30 even for a simple pasta. Their cakes selection is one of the best in my opinion as their Berry Pavlova is to die for. Not a place I would frequent often for their food, as I mostly go there for their live performances only.

Had Alexis a while back at The Gardens and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had expanded their dining area. My friends and I used to come here often to have their Pavlova. I’m not sure if it is still just as nice but I think it is worth trying it. Food at Alexis is a hit and miss. Not a very good thing considering the prices you pay. I think their Asian offering are so-so but you’re better off ordering Western. For my last visit I just stuck to Duck Salad which is a simple dish and you definitely can’t go wrong with it. Whats good about Alexis is you can make reservation for large groups. The last time I did it, they gave us a private room which was just what we need for a rowdy group of people. The décor and warm light also lends some intimacy that you can’t get sitting outside.

Jazz and chilling music, a pleasant crowd, and a modern contemporary design of the space, the ambience is what we love about this place. The last time I was had their pizza and pasta and food was delectable. The fresh herbs tossed on our cheesy pizza was just right, not too cheesy and I bet the chef must be skillful to make the dish blend in so well. We were at the outlet in The Gardens and I look forward to try other their other dishes.

My fondest memory of hanging out at Alexis was this: Do you know that feeling of going on vacation for a long time and you get kind of homesick and you miss you friends? Well that happened to me about 6 months ago. So naturally as soon as I came back I gave all my friends a call and asked them to meet me there. We had such a wonderful time catching up with each other over coffee and wine. What I loved about the place is that it’s so open and yet it feels very private, the perfect ambience for catching up with your mates. We ordered a few tidbits, I had the scallop and we shared a few Papperoni pizzas together and had a ball. Another element which I loved was the feature wall, it features square mirrors in dark grey frames of various sizes put together to create a beautiful piece of art. I would never forget that day and if you ever want a place to catch up with your friends over a good glass of wine. This is the place for you. I would talk about the scrumptious desserts but that’s enough reminiscing for one day I think.
