When this nasi kandar place opened up right behind an already established one(Pelita) in the Ampang neighbourhood, i was curious to see if they would survive. Surprisingly it has been about a year now and they still have many customers so I assume business must be good. Also, apparently the branch in Penang is very good so I was curious to try it out. I have eaten here once with a bunch of my girlfriends and to be honest I prefer Pelita! The waiters were a bit slow and the food is about below average for a nasi kandar joint. I had the nasi lemak which was forgettable and one of my friend’s had the tandoori chicken which was tasteless. The drinks fared slightly better, the Milo Kosong was good and the teh tarik decent.

This Nasi Kandar has recently opened behind Nasi Kandar Pelita at Ampang Point, quite a bold and risky move if you ask me. So I then i noticed that this place was almost as busy as Pelita and thought it must be good right? wrong. Its so normal and didn’t impress me at all. Well i guess to be fair Nasi Kandar shops are not out to impress right but at least if they served good food you would go back. The dishes were too oily and cold, which I hate. Flavors were strong but thats just cause there was so much MSG. The maggi goreng is also so-so and teh tarik was way too strong and not sweet enough. I probably would not go back here again. One good thing is that its cheaper than Pelita.
