Ampang Point is one of those malls you go to only because you live nearby. Otherwise you would never set foot in it. There’s a supermarket (Giant), a few restaurants (fast food and casual dining alike), Harvey Norman, Spotlight, a post office and quite a few hair salons.
The parking here is horrendous and during lunch hour on weekdays and anytime after 11am on weekends you would be driving around for a while just to get a spot. Sometimes if there is heavy rain certain spots in the indoor parking will be really very wet.
That being said, if you live ten minutes away like I do and you need to get a haircut or post a package, then it’s pretty convenient to go here.

They need to provide better parking facilities. As someone’s who is not from Ampang, I sometimes drop by here to shop at spotlight. My only complaint is that their underground parking is cramped and dark, and there’s not much to begin with.
Otherwise, my shopping experiences here have been ok. There are many Korean eateries here to try out if you’re a fan of Korean food. There’s also a used bookstore here that I’m a fan of.

I live about 5-​min drive from Ampang Point, so I have been going here ever since I was a kid. What really sucks about this place is that looking for parking is extremely difficult! For some reason, lately, cars that are parked outside have been covered in bird shit — I don’t remember this happening last time.
Nonetheless, this simple mall has a fair amount of shops for shopping (Brands Outlet, Giordano, Popular, Harvey Norman, Mr DIY, etc) and restaurants such as Octopus, Delifrance, Paddington House of Pancakes, Subway, McDonalds, Starbucks, etc — and also surrounding restaurants that are very much within walking distance, like Nandos and Sushi King. There’s also a Giant hypermarket and a bowling alley.
Essentially, it’s just a simple convenient (and fairly old) mall that offers just about enough.

Ampang Point is my go to place for a quick bite or when I need to get something. Its only 10mins from my house and has pretty much everything important that you may need. There’s a very big and well stocked Giant Supermarket, Brands Outlet, various mamaks and nasi kandars and a whole other array of restaurants and stores.
Parking here is the worst possible, there are a lot of lots outside that is just 0.50 cents an hour but you’d be so lucky to get a spot. The longest i drove around looking for a spot was 40mins and then i gave up. There is indoor parking too that doesn’t have as many spots and goes for about RM2.50 for the first 2 hours.
The mall itself has tons of stores but the surrounding shoplots around the mall also has really good stores but mostly restaurants like Nasi Kandar Pelita, Secret Recipe etc.

Ampang Point is one of the closet malls to my house. I’d usually go there to get food (to take away) grocery shopping or to Spotlight (one stop store for your home needs).
Other than those three reasons, i would not go to ampang point. I feel that it needs to be upgraded and the quality of the mall needs to be improved. Its been pretty much the same for the last 15 years or more.
Although i do see new outlets coming in such as Cha Time, Famous Amos, Paddington Pancake House which is excellent and they should keep it up. I strongly feel that they need to improve on other things too. Maybe giving the mall a makeover to make it more lively.
After all it will only make the consumers happier.

Ampang Point is pretty outdated. I feel like sometimes I’m walking back into the late 80s when I go to this mall. If you live in the neighborhood you will find yourself here more than once, because it is convenient and cheap, but there’s not much reason to come here otherwise.
The grocery store at this mall I think is really not good. There are so many better grocery stores in the city the only time I’ve used the one here is when I was really in a pinch and driving by.
My favorite thing about this mall was an Arabic place called Tarbush however it recently relocated so that is off the list.
Basically, if you’re looking for bootleg DVDs or cheap clothes take a look in Ampang Point. For legitimate shopping I can’t say I recommend it a single store here that you can’t find anywhere else.
