This is an awesome little wine bar that opened up near the Shioiri train station in Yokosuka. It has been going strong for 3 years with a menu that is completely comprised of dishes using Japanese ingredients. The vegetables are all from the local area and the wines are all from Japan. I came here for a single bottle with a few dishes but ended up with two bottles and a small pizza in addition to my small dishes. Everything was pretty good. Be warned, Japanese reds are not as mature as most drinkers like, but their whites are as sharp and crisp as any from any other region in the world. I had the 3 dish appetizer plate which you get to choose 3 dishes that are starred and the stars match with white wine. We went with the mixed yellow/orange carrots in sauce, seared bacon, and salmon patte. The salmon patte was not finely grated, and had cuts of salmon in it which was pretty awesome. Over the French bread it worked well and paired well with both white wines we drank from the Zenkoji area. The carrots were surprisingly good, I used to never like just eating carrots, and for some reason I couldn’t stop eating these ones. The bacon was only a small order of two slices, but with the tangy seedy mustard it was perfect. The pizza, just a simple bit of basil, mozzarella, and sauce was fluffy and thick crusted. Everything worked really well with the wine. I highly recommend this place, since its a small shop that only seats 10 and is not a chain. The only other choice for a wine bar in Yokosuka is DiPunto which is a fun place to go but its just a chain. This place is awesome because if you sit at the counter you can see the owner make everything. Its pretty awesome as you dine and drink to watch the man cook. Its like your own private show.

Great hidden gem! 1 chef great wine and food! Menu is fantastic! Staff was friendly and service was considerably fast with only one Chef. It’s great to watch him cook you meal as you drink some local Japanese wine

Cute little tapas restaurant! Don’t let the taciturn barkeep/cook fool you… He’s actually a cinnamon roll. Japanese craft beers on the overhead board. Try them! The spare ribs were quite delicious, and the potato+garlic bread app was delicious. Be prepared for small portions at full-size prices, though. Ambiance, décor, and uniqueness in Yokosuka make it worth the occasional experience, though!

This tapas bar, just a few minutes from Shioiri station, is a great spot for really fresh food. Caution: food is so fresh that they may be out of your menu choices because that was all that was ordered. For instance, they were out of all chicken dishes when we went on Wednesday. However, the fresh vegetables with warm dip made up for the lack of chicken. Apparently, they grow their own vegetables, and they even infused color into the vegetables creating a beautiful presentation. The menu is not limited to chicken and veggies. Otonari3 offers pizzas, fries, salad… Very good food. This is a tiny restaurant… 8 seats at tables and then bar seating. Either get there early or make a reservation! I’ve tried to go here a few times, and this week was my first GO.
