I last came here five or six years ago before tonight. I have been hesitant to come back since I wasn’t that impressed last time. I did come back since the wife wanted curry and I wanted to try something we have not had this time around in Japan. I ordered my normal Indian restaurant meal. Super spicy chicken curry, side of rice, and a Garlic cheese nan. I usually split the nan with the wife but she ordered a ladies set. The curry was actually spicy. It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t amazing, just normal. The rice wasn’t overcooked, not really any depth, just normal. The garlic cheese nan wasn’t bad, not great, just normal. That is how my experience went, not bad, not great, just ok. That is great at a mess hall, at an Indian restaurant with a dozen competitors nearby, some interesting décor, weird music, and passable food is barely memorable. I might be back if a co-worker drags me… I rather try something new and hopefully get something impactful…

Came here with the hubby since I was in the mood for Indian and we haven’t been to this place in a few years. I ordered the ladies set that comes with two curries to choose from a limited number of options, naan, small scoop of rice and some chicken tikka. I got the butter chicken and seafood curries(extra hot; I like my curry with some kick). The butter chicken was good and the seafood one was just ok(seafood taste overpowered the actual curry sauce). The chicken tikka was good(was afraid it’d be dry but was perfectly moist) and the naan was a decent size. I only wish they threw in a bit more rice bigger than the size of a small ice cream scoop, but that’s just me. Overall a decent place but I think I’ll stick to my favorite which is not far from the main gate.

Taste– ***** Service– **** Ambiance– *** Awesome little place with killer food. Order the cheese naan with roasted garlic and thank me later, you will cry garlicky tears of joy. Butter chicken was bomb, and so was the chicken tikka masala. Serving size wasn’t huge, but they have some good lunch specials. We were a party of 5 so we asked for the covered booth in the back of the restaurant, and it was intimate. Awesome place to try. Don’t forget the garlic cheese naan.

Very good Indian restaurant. I went there twice during my trip and it was better than any curry I’ve had before. I ordered the butter chicken curry with medium spice and garlic naan. Prices are very fair, service is good, and they speak English well. It is a small restaurant and in the basement but the atmosphere isn’t bad. They also do pretty well with takeout.

Seven months ago I was surprised by the amount of Indian/Nepal curry restaurants in of all places, Japan. Yokosuka has many options. Nirvana was next on the list to try. This restaurant is located Mikasa Shopping Center, 3 minutes walk from Keikyu Line Yokosuka Chuo station. Don’t be discouraged when you see that it’s basement level and the guest book«I was here» writing on the walls. As you finish walking down the steps you’ll see a nice inviting dining area. Updated lighting and wall décor. TV on with Music Videos playing. A good mix of locals and foreigners were eating here when we entered. My first visit I went with the two curry dishes– Mutton and Butter Chicken. Yesterday’s visit I went out of norm and got the Seafood and the curry of the day, Mushroom Chicken. Cheese nan is always a must order for me. We didn’t wait long for our meal. The food was excellent! So delicious and filling. Cleaned both curry dishes with ease. If you’re a spicy food person, go ahead and order the curry Extra Hot. Good kick of spice but not overbearing like Coco’s level 9⁄10. The staff was friendly and attentive. Looking forward to the next visit!
