I was actually on my way to a different restaurant when I stumbled upon this Indian place in front of Yokosuka Naval Base. The food is good and I have not had good Indian food in quite some time. All the dishes were delicious and I enjoyed everything. There was nice smelling incense and it was a cozy little spot. Everything was fresh and the server was very attentive and able to answer questions about each dish. I can’t believe I found good Indian food in Japan this is great. Definitely recommended and will be back again!

Great Indian food at a great price. I came here after reading the Unilocal reviews, and I was not disappointed!

This place is my go-to Indian place, because of proximity to work and taste. Nothing hits the spot like some curry and naan. Honestly though, it’s the little things that sets Nishan apart from the other half a dozen Indian joints dotted around Yokosuka. First, the salad dressing, which is the Japanese variety, vice the Ranch which most other restaurants serve(yeah, I know, its small, but I’m really not a fan of Ranch). Second, the papad that comes with most specials. Also, their garlic cheese naan, in my opinion, is the best around. Their curry bowls are also slightly larger than the ones other restaurants use(it’s not a huge difference, but it is noticeable). In summary, if you’re looking for some good Indian food, go here.

We were the only customers in there for lunch but that was ok with us! Outside at the base of the staircase there is a menu for you to peruse to preview what they offer. Walk up a staircase and they are located on the right. Great service. As soon as we walked in the gentlemen who helped us was very polite and attentive. My husband and I ordered the same meal, set B with butter chicken. It came with a starter salad, drink, papad, tikka chicken, seek kabob, a small cup of rice and one choice of your favorite curry. They have a great curry list to choose from so we chose the butter chicken. It’s a great staple. I wasn’t able to finish my meal but the meat was cooked to a tender finish and the butter chicken sauce had a hint of lemon which I really enjoyed. Next time I’m here I will add a bit of spice. I ordered mild and it was good but I like a bit of hot spice to my food. I also recommend ordering the mango lasse, it is very good here. Upon leaving they boxed up my food nicely so I can enjoy it again later. We have been to a few other Indian based restaurants in the Yokosuka area and we enjoyed this one the most for the quality and variety of the food. The location is really convenient also for anyone living at the Naval base, or near Daiei Mall or even blue street. I recommend trying this place!

A lot of people like this place but I’m not a big fan. What the meal basically comes down to is dipping bread into curry. Meh. People say the Garlic Cheese Nan is like crack but one or two bites is all that I can take as it’s too rich. I’ve always liked Nirvana better. And they allow smoking.

It was just ok. Tandoori chicken was greasy and bland. Curry and naan was just ok. Prob won’t go again.

There are an endless number of curry establishments in the Yokosuka area for sure, but Nishan distinguishes itself by normally being pretty empty(cannot figure out why, but the food can’t be it). Price point is substantially cheaper than CoCo Ichibanya, and the lunch specials come with endless nan and rice. Stellar service on the cheap.

Easily my favorite Indian place in Yokosuka. Fantastic tasting food and great lunch specials that include all you can eat naan/rice. Great service as well, but it can take a little while if you get there during the lunch rush, but its worth the wait!

The food was fantastic and they have great lunch deals :) It is close to the train station and they have English menus. I had the b set for lunch which came with 2 different curries and the most generous portion of naan I’ve ever had. So good. I was very stuffed when I left

Ok — I like rice more than nan. This place has great curry– I always go for super hot chicken. It isn’t too hot, just right for me. Me and the wife always go for cheese nan — it’s good here. I will admit Delicious has a little better nan down the road but this place has better curry and rice that is soft, tasty, and well seasoned. This is my go to joint for Indian.

Went with some coworkers for dinner. They wanted Indian curry. I looked up Indian restaurant on Unilocal and this was the closest. It is located on the 2nd floor. The stairs to get up are located on the left side of the Chinese restaurant. Ate here for dinner. Started off with some Tandoori Prawns. Ordered Karachi Chicken curry set B which includes Naan, Rice, Chicken and a kebab for about ¥1400. Paid a little extra to change it to cheese naan. Washed it down with a Mango Lassi. Spice levels– If your a spicy foods eater go with very hot. Hot was mild for me. The group left very satisfied. I sure did. The food and service was Excellent! Will definitely come back.

I consider this place of the best Indian places I’ve been to ever… even better than places I’ve been to stateside. They have great lunch deals and delicious curry. For lunch, I usually get the chicken curry with saffron rice(which is under ¥700!) and if I go there for dinner, I usually get the Butter Chicken curry set(about ¥1100) — you can also choose your spice level: mild, medium, hot, and very hot. Looking forward to my next visit!
