Great atmosphere, delicious food, and very nice service. We made sure that we got reservations as soon as we entered the park. You walk up to the restaurant and they will give you a ticket with your reservation time. I recommend going at lunch because it is much cheaper to eat at a fancy restaurant like Magellan’s during lunch hours. We wanted to make sure we were on time for our reservation, so we came fifteen minutes early. They were nice enough to let us in the air conditioned waiting area in the restaurant while we waited to be seated. Once you enter you see the top of Magellan’s signature globe from the second floor. The bring you down the stairs on the first floor to your tables. There is so much artwork and things on the walls to look at, not to mention the view of the big globe in the center of the restaurant. Their menu consists of sets and a la carte dishes and are written in Japanese and English. There are two sets at lunch: the North Star and the Atlantic. The Atlantic is cheaper than the North Star(2,880 yen vs. 3,500 yen) and the only difference between the two is the choice of entrée. These sets came with an appetizer, a main dish, a dessert, a drink, two bread rolls, and coffee or tea to end the meal. While these are all individual sets, we wanted to try a bit of each others plates to get a better taste of Magellan’s cuisine. For our appetizers, we ordered the soup of the day which was the chilled tomato soup, the walnut and cheese salad, and the shrimp and scallops with mixed bean salad. The chilled tomato soup was creamy yet refreshing, which surprised us. The walnut and cheese salad had more cheese than nuts but it was yummy. The shrimp and scallops with mixed bean salad was beautiful and it tasted good as well. A waitress came and offered two types of bread rolls. For our entrees, we ordered the beef cheek with red wine sauce, the fish of the day which was black cod over orzo, and the pork cutlet. All the entrees were delicious, but the beef cheek stood out as the favorite. For dessert, we ordered the vanilla bean crème brûlée, the mango sorbet, and the dessert of the day, pineapple cake with cassis sherbet. All the desserts were great! The mango sorbet was refreshing, the crème brûlée rich and creamy, and the pineapple cake light and the sherbet refreshing. The meal ended with a choice of coffee or tea. Overall, what a great dinging experience. The food was delicious and the ambiance of the restaurant made you feel like you weren’t even in a Disney park. We were confused but we found out that you pay at the table, unlike most places where you pay at a register. To make you experience even more«magical,» when you make your reservations, ask for the secret room. It is a small private room, but you do not get to admire the Magellan globe or the beautiful ceiling. Sometimes there was a language barrier, but the service was very patient and kind with us foreigners. I will definitely want to try to eat here again if I visit Disney Sea again!
