One of my Japan friend’s favorites, and definitely one of my favorites. The dough is wonderful and ingredients are very high quality. Like most places in Hamadayama I strongly suggest a reservation if you want a seat. Personally my favorite is still Funky Chicken and Fujiyoshi, but if you happen to get bored of Japanese cuisine and want something different this is great. The chef frequents Italy and cooks all food by himself, like most small restaurants in Japan. The wine was pretty good too but I feel it’s stored at slightly too high of a temperature. The four cheese pizza is probably the best item on the menu. I didn’t care much for the short ribs appetizer.

Pizza Piazza is a small, cozy pizza and pasta place on the back side of Hamadayama Station. The owner /chef keeps a careful eye on his customers and the food gets to your table in a timely fashion. Pizzas are rectangular shaped and we’ve enjoyed several different varieties. Pasta is done just right — al dente and the sauces are not overpowering. Sardines, in season, are excellent. The wine is reasonable and the owner does allow BYOB for a reasonable corkage fee too. The place is small so reservations are definitely recommended, especially so on the weekends when many families from the neighborhood want to go there for a casual meal.
