Hands down the best Italian pizza in the neighborhood! If anything, this place is also always highly ranked as best Italian pizza in Tokyo. It’s a family owned restaurant with a hand made stone oven in the middle of the kitchen. They always makes sure to bring in a pizza chef from Italy to assure authentic Italian quality. Prices range from ¥1600 — ¥2600 per pie, and with the light thin crust, one person can easily finish a pie on their own. It’s hard to decide on which pizza to order given the long list of pizza variations,(and honestly, all of them are delicious!) but my personal favorite is the Pizza Piccola Tavola that comes with a pile of fresh arugula and prosciutto on top! Definitely opt in for the additional buffalo mozzarella option for +¥200 too. Most people are here for the pizza, but their pasta and other dishes are as good! There’s also a highly ranked Italian pizza restaurant called Massimottavio just about a block or two away. In fact, their chef originally used to work at La Piccola Tavola. There has been some controversies over the fact that Massimottavio opened so close as a competitor, and the neighborhood definitely heavily supports La Piccola Tavola over the other. I’ve tried both stores, and I favor La Piccola Tavola because of it’s cozy family business feel and pleasant waiters. Taste wise, I didn’t find the pizza to be too far apart. Both stores constantly have lines so you can try checking both places and go for the one with a shorter wait time if time is what you value. La Piccola Tavola does take-outs as well, but the pizza gets a little soggy on the way home. I recommend eating it right there fresh out of the oven!
