My boyfriend and I finally had the opportunity to go on a trip to Japan this year(!!!) and I had been planning our itinerary for well over a year. This café is modeled after the animé Shirokuma Café(or «Polar Bear Café»), which means most of the food/drinks are inspired by or heavily reference the characters from the series itself. The café itself is very clean and more spacious than we imagined. The staff was incredibly polite and even though we spoke no Japanese whatsoever, we were all able to communicate effectively with pointing and gesturing lmao. The prices for the food and drink are a little overpriced imo, but that’s kind of what you get when you’re eating at a themed café so we weren’t too bothered by it. While we were looking at the menu, we noticed that they have a lot of limited edition dishes. Sometimes things will be themed a certain way for a month or so(ie. it might be nearing the birthday of one of the characters, so they create a separate menu JUST about that character) and it looked like they had things like this happening frequently. A good way to entice people to come back, especially since limited edition goodies would also appear around this time! My boyfriend and I decided to get several dishes to share. After every order you are allowed to roll their dice to see which limited edition coaster you can win!(We got a sloth and a panda, hehe.) We ordered two coffees(one was green tea with Panda, the other was a regular mocha? with Polar Bear), wedge cut fries, and pancakes. While the portions of food were small, they arrived to our table in a timely manner and were actually quite delicious! The pancakes were fluffy, the fries were salted just right, and the coffee art was ridiculously cute. Since the portions were small, we still had room for dessert. We debated about it for a while, but in the end decided to go for the panda cake roll. Honestly, not only was it cute as all hell, but it was SOYUMMY too. After we were done eating, we decided to take a look around. The front of the shop has a GIANT section dedicated to merchandise from the animé. T-shirts, stuffed animals, buttons, and so forth. I didn’t see anything that I really wanted, so we didn’t buy anything, but it was pretty cool. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere fun/cute to eat at in Tokyo. It was easy to get to and find. The atmosphere is great, the food is fantastic, and well worth the experience!

Shirokuma Café is an animé that my boyfriend loves so we had to come here. You can see the giant panda and the penguin at the counter(so cute!) And buy the animes merchandise in front of the store. The staff all look like the staff from the animé which gives it a nice feel. The food was just okay. We got the Loco Moco and my boyfriend got their special which came with chicken and beef. If you’re from the states(especially Hawaii) the Loco Moco will look different… it’s got a tomatoe-like sauce instead of gravy on top. All suttle flavors, nothing stuck out too much.
