Very nice Kinokuniya with a large selection of books. The foreign language section is especially impressive; there are plenty of English books and magazines, as well as sizable shelves of French and German books as well.
It can get crowded, naturally, and navigating the stairways or narrow elevators can be slightly daunting. Still, this is a great place to spend time wandering for a good read. Absolutely the bookstore experience I was looking for.

My favorite bookstore in Tokyo =D
Thank goodness for the English section here! I was in desperate need of something to read; as an international student I was getting tired of studying and reading Japanese 24/7, so thankfully Kinokuniya provided me with a respite. It was here that I actually came across the Game of Thrones books, and this is where my addiction began.
There are a LOT of floors to this bookstore so it can be a bit overwhelming, but at least there is an elevator! However, the elevator takes forever, and you can’t push the buttons yourself since there is a lady who does it for you. If you are only going up or down a few floors just save yourself some time and take the stairs. They have an excellent collection of English books, Japanese study books, and of course Japanese books in general. I spent a lot of time in here, but not too much money because the books were expensive! At least they wrap your purchases up nicely =)

Une des grande librairie en chaine mais ce magasin est maison mère de tous les branches.
Situé à Shinjuku, il se trouve près de la sortie de l’Est. Mais comme elle existe ici depuis longtemps et comme elle n’a pas encore rénovée, il n’y a pas en effet un ascenseur.
Pourtant, il y a assez de livres en tout genres, du coup c’est assez pratique enfin.
En haut, (je me rapelle plus quel étage) vous pouvez trouver quelques rayons de livres en anglais, et un peu en français également.
