All the Dean and Deluca’s I have been in Japan are fantastic. Food, drinks, cleanliness you name it. The one at Georgetown in Washington, DC should take a cue perhaps from these ones.

UMMMM. Come to America?! Amazing variety of pastries that are so creative! This is located in Shinjuku station, right next to the entrance and close to Laduree. Even if you’re full, I guarantee you’ll want to buy something! They have an amazing selection of pastries, jams, breaks fast items and coffee(right across from this place). I got the green tea scone and MYOHMY. This is a scone?! PERFECTION. They do not skimp on the matcha flavor and it was the perfect texture. It would taste AMAZING with coffee! Everything here is budget friendly and you can use your PASMO card to pay!

You get visually assaulted with pastries, people and food before you even step foot into this store. There are two sides and I regret not just patiently waiting on the side that had less people. Instead, I tried to navigate a small stroller while Gem(who is 4’11) weaved her way through the crowd. They have a coffee and pastry stand on the left and pastry, food and Dean & Delucca branded items on the right. Everything is ridiculous expensive and just like the NYC location, the food looks better than it tastes. I hate scones but Gem bought scones to «taste». They were both dry and the matcha one tasted like dirt chocolate. Best example that I can think of. I had a salted caramel muffin but the top fell off because the muffin was dry. We probably bought the wrong things and I’m sure there was something among the piles of pastries that was the best thing ever but we got the worst ones. Take lots of photos but skip the food, unless you want to have dry mouth.

This place definitely has a lot of pastries. I got the green tea scone and the blueberry muffin. I love the blueberry muffin. The scone was on the dry side. I didn’t like it that much.

Could you believe they have a Dean & Deluca in Tokyo yet we don’t have one in L.A. How is that possible?!! The shop is located near Laduree so if you find one know that you’re near the other. Picked up Italian imported cookies to bring back for friends and loved ones and fed myself fresh baked goodies which were immaculate! The cheese croissant was To.Die.For. They’ve also got a small Café across the store where you could pick up beverages and desserts. A great find below the Shinjuku Train Station where they’ve built a mall called Lumine(1&2, there’s two sides to it as it’s huge!). At the south of the station you’ll find Lumine 1 where Dean & Deluca is located.

Amidst the chaso of Shinjuku train stations labyrinth of shops and restaurants you will find a respite from all that is Asian… I love asian… but I do miss me the good ol US of A sometimes. This is a very small D&D that serves lovely sandwiches, pastries, prepared items to go, and all of those packaged goodies D&D is known for. The shrimp tempura wrap was good: Albeit a tad strange. The bagel dog was an interesting iteration on a classic American food product… the dough was different. All the pastries were quite good if not a bit less sweet. If your missing the old country check this place out!!!
