Before the days of Craft Beer this was the spot to try all the great British plus international beers. Crowds can be random and the type of music more random but you will always meet the friendliest mix of foreigners, bilingual Japanese and the friendly local Japanese wandering in for Nijikai or Sanjikai. Awesome with friends but never hesitate to go alone… you will meet friendly people here.

Fun bar, good beers, and super intimate place to see live music. It’s on the 4th floor so you won’t notice it unless you’re looking for it.

Though the prices are a bit high, the live music(no cover) and the cool décor more than makes up for it.

What the Dickens was a pretty neat British pub near Ebisu station. We went on a Sunday evening and there was a good line-up of local bands. The bar was filled with expats and a few Japanese. Menu was decent with chicken wings, chips(fries), & a good BLT. All in all, good atmosphere and a nice place to socialize and support local bands.
