Good coffee roasted on site with top notch Synesso machines churning out espresso. They even have coffee soft serve ice cream! Nice fit out too.

Such a great little spot to stop in and take a break from shopping. The people there are super friendly to non-Japanese speakers, and the coffee is great too! However, my favourite part about this place is their espresso ice cream!

A really cute little coffee shop in the back area of harajuku/shibuya area called«Cat Street» it is run by Nozy Coffee and has a very western feel to it. There arent too many seats so when its crowded it isn’t really comfy but there are many seats including study seats with outlets. There are also seats outside on the patio and the coffee shop also sells beans that they can grind right there for you. We have been enjoying our mexico blend. This would be a cool date place. :)

The Roastery was my favourite coffee shop while in Tokyo. Coffee quality is perfect — lining up and getting your coffee is fast and efficient, and the desserts are great. I liked the vibe in the store and there’s lots of nooks and crannies to sit down and have a chat with your friends. I definitely recommend coming here for a cup!

The Roastery is a fashionable coffee shop located in between Shibuya & Omotesando. It is on the first floor of T. Y Harbor’s «The Smokehouse» and is run by the famous Nozy Coffee(which its original store can be found in Sangenjaya) The Roastery has a very nice San Francisco Mission District style interior & serves great coffee(somewhat similar to the quality of Streamer’s Coffee). The employees are also very charming and nice. It does not have free wifi but does have many outlets inside. They also have outdoor seating which is dressed with fairy lights & outdoor heaters.

Something for everyone. Four and a half stars rounded up to five. I would normally give establishments like this five stars, but there are so many other amazing cafes and coffee houses in Tokyo that put a more astringent emphasis on quality; not to take away from Nozy Coffee’s world-class coffee of course. The Roastery excels at pretty much every facet of coffee they put out. The espresso from their espresso bar is pulled nice and thick but at the same time velvety smooth and not at all bitter. Their hand drip /aeropress bar served me one of the cleanest cups of Honduras El Aguacate I’ve ever had, but it was missing a little bit of oomph that would normally have me singing Miley Cyrus or threatening to upside peoples’ mamas because it’s just that good. Jokes and threats aside, I enjoyed every cup of coffee I tried at the Roastery and it would definitely make a dream addition to any neighborhood anywhere else in the world, but with it being smack dab in the middle of the Coffee mecca known as Shibuya, mere minutes away from other giants such as Streamers, Hatou, On the Corner, and also Paddlers in the past, it sort of falls just a little bit short of standing out against the«competition.» I’m sure other branches of Nozy Coffee are a little bit more specialized and feel a bit more personal, but I didn’t get as much of that vibe from the Roastery as I’d hoped; they do offer cupping sessions and roast on site which is awesome for any inspiring coffee lover, but I’d still like to see them focus on one thing and blow everyone out of the water(if you know about Nozawa a.k.a. «Nozy“‘s backstory, you’ll agree that he’s perfectly capable of this) rather than spread themselves out a little thin. Either way, I strongly recommend this place if you’re in the area and need a quick jolt to keep your metaphorical batteries up and running.

Initially thought that by the location, it might be a trendy coffee place, with more focus on cool, than coffee. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The quality of the single origin beans, the careful roasting and pouring led to amazing coffee as well as latte. The coffee was rich and flavorful, with very distinct differences in the roasts. The espressos were thick with the flavor standing out with the milk. Impressed that with the roasting facility in the store, that there was no scent of burning beans and the machinery was very quiet. Went back twice and brought beans back to the states to savor for the last cups at home.

Amazing coffee. Get the machiato, you won’t regret it I usually get capuchino and was hesitant to get machiato but I am so glad I did.

amazing coffee place. I love that they offer heated outdoor seating. their roastery is right in the back, it smells like heaven! their prices are more than reasonable for that location. my husband tried the cronut and he liked it. we ordered a latte and a doppio. I liked mine, the latte was a little too strong for my husband. all in all a great experience with very friendly staff.

A fantastic café in the heart of Harajuku! I stopped by for some work, and loved everything about this café. Excellent quality coffee, free wifi and outlets available, a cozy atmosphere and great service. I’ve had the latte and the single drop coffee, and both are excellent. I will definitely be back!

Coffee is excellent in this coffee shop. They roast it onsite. I was here on a hot humid summer day and I really appreciated the chilled sparkling water pairing my superb espresso. Customer service is very friendly and professional.

We ended up at The Roastery after looking for places that specialize in pour overs or are independent roasters. Since I knew that pour overs existed here after finding them on a number of coffee blogs, I was somewhat surprised to see after walking in that the menu board didn’t have the pour overs as an option. Since we were already there, we decided to go to with espresso shots instead since that seemed to be the closet thing that represented a cup of coffee. Upon ordering the espresso shot, we saw that the back part of the shop was dedicated to coffee cuppings and pour overs. Not to be deterred, we also submitted an order for some pour over coffee in addition to the espresso shot that was just ordered. The espresso shots were served with a side of tonic water, which was something I hadn’t experienced before. I’ve only recently gotten into espresso shots, so this was definitely a new experience on top of a new experience. From a coffee perspective, the pour overs that we had were better than the espresso shots, and we were able to leisurely enjoy our coffee before heading out to the next destination of lunch. The options for your French press pour over are about three to four, but they come from different parts of the world, and also comes with a nice little card as a memento to your coffee experience. I definitely appreciate the amount of work The Roastery puts in to their coffee, you can tell that this place has a direction it wants to take it’s shop and into the realm of coffee awesomeness!

Went to this perfect coffee shop two times in my one week of staying in Shibuya. I got the Costa Rican iced latte both times and I was hooked. What I was really hooked on, however, were the NY donuts(aka cronuts!) Sweet, sugary, melt-in-your-mouth PERFECTION. I highly recommend these donuts. I tried the other pastries as well and while they were good, they are not as memorable as the donuts. I absolutely loved the location, the atmosphere, the wonderful service, and the friendly foreigners. I just really, really miss Japan. Anyway, I will most definitely be back and will make sure to come by this café again. Meanwhile, I will dream of the donuts.

Conveniently situated on cat street. The ambient is very relaxing, so is the interior décor with plenty of areas to grab seat and people watch. I ain’t no coffee specialist but this coffee is pretty good and wakes me the«F-UP! When I need it lol if you happen to be in the area… go check it out!

If you found yourself exhausted after a fruitful shopping at Omotesando, you may want to stop by this very industrial chic café for a cup of coffee. The café is cool to hang out with friends, with a roasting coffee beans machine right at the back. They also sell coffee beans. You also order coffee drips, besides all the espresso and flat white. I would say this place is legit, except for the lack of comfortable tables and chairs for the patrons. This could be intentional, otherwise no one would leave. Wifi is provided for the patrons, just shamelessly ask for the passwords from your cashiers or waiters.

This cup of Café Latte Double Shot with Indonesia Alur Badak(480 Yen) at The Roastery might be the best cup of coffee I had during my weekend in Tokyo. From the balanced of the espresso(double shot!!) and the nicely frothed milk and the lovely latte art. I love the space here too. They even have a nice patio up front facing the street if you want to do some people watching. A ultra chill and relaxing coffee joint that make amazing coffee and extra bonus points of roasting their beans in house and even have cupping sessions if you want to know more about the beans. Love love love this place!

I left The Roastery after our time in Tokyo on a first-name basis with the baristas. They’re just that kind of people. The fact they pour one of the best coffees I had the pleasure of drinking in Japan is icing on the cake. You’ve got a choice from an edited selection of in-house roasted beans. My favourite was the Nicaragua. The Roastery is located in the hip back streets of Shibuya and is a gentle and easy stroll from Shibuya crossing or from Omotesando Hills. The space is warehouse-chic and while there’s no WiFi, there are plenty of power points scattered throughout for laptop or phone charging. Each time I visited it was like a little slice of cafes at home and there’s plenty of space to stick around for a while. If you’re not a massive coffee drinker and the time calls for it, there’s also a coffee beer they’ve been brewing in partnership with the restaurant upstairs. Pro Tip: Pair your coffee with a New York Donut(aka cronut).

Love the vibe at St Ali(Now Workshop Espresso) in London? Market Lane in Melbourne? Stumptown in Portland? Then you’ll feel right at home at The Roastery in Tokyo. This is a coffee shop lover’s coffee shop. Don’t get me wrong, coffee lovers will enjoy The Roastery as well, but even above the coffee, the shop itself is a total winner. High industrial ceilings, massive shop lights, exposed brick, reclaimed wood, polished concrete floors, wooden pallet benches, a massive island that serves as a 360 degree counter, open floor plan, loads of high-top and bar seating — it really just nails that«coffee shop» vibe that everyone from work-from-home, coffee shop junkies to Hollywood set builders are trying to capture. The menu is simple — espresso, americano, or latte — and you select your beans from what’s been roasted that day by the enormous roaster in the back of the shop. A few pastries are on offer, but let’s be honest, that’s not why you’re here. You’re here to drink a good cup of coffee in a fantastic atmosphere in one of Tokyo’s coolest neighbourhoods. Enjoy it for all it’s worth!

This place is actually owned by TY harbor group. Coffee is sourced from Nozy, and they have a separate counter in the back where you can buy beans. Cool roasting machine on premises, seems like they will go deep on coffee education if your language skills are up to it. TY harbor connection means the pastries are excellent, although they only stock a few items. Coffee is excellent though a bit pricey. Expresso drinks only, nothing brewed or sweet — which I like. Great service from friendly staff. Location is on Cat Street adjacent to Ralph Lauren brick building. Coffee is first floor, second floor is TY’s Smokehouse BBQ place.
