This restaurant is actually called Moti Indian. Not sure why this lists it as Raj Mahal. We called ahead and made a reservation but then when we got to the address we saw this place and didn’t see any Raj Mahal signs anywhere. When we went in the waiter confirmed our reservation and said it happens all the time. Weird. The food is freaking fantastic. We had 5 different dishes and its hard to pick a favorite. My suggestion is to just order a bunch of items. Unlike some Indian places where there’s basically 3 flavors of sauces and you pick the meat, Moti’s dishes had distinct flavors, the perfect amount of spice, and a lot of subtle flavors. We went early after a long day of travel so we had the restaurant to ourselves and the service was therefore exceptional. The ambiance is fine. A touch overdone maybe, but not dirty or cramped. My only complaint was the TV in the corner. I hate TV’s in restaurants(exception being sports bar types), especially when I’m having dinner. It doesn’t really matter what’s on the TV, just the fact that its on is a distraction to an otherwise great meal. At a place like this the focus should be on the food.

This was hands-down the best food we had during our trip to Japan! We went with a large group of both vegetarians and non-vegetarians and everyone loved it. The service is wonderful and the ambiance is lovely. Someday I’ll be back!
