There should be pretty much no explanation needed particularly for travelers from North America, but I guess more and more people globally, even in Asia, are getting to know what BEN&JERRY’s sells. They came to launch their first store in Japan(the one at the Ometesando street in Harajuku) in April 2012 and they have been gaining fans since then. In fact, they first started selling their ice cream back in 1997 at convenience stores in Japan, but at that time they completely failed in their marketing and couldn’t establish their position in the Japan market. This time they seem to have been doing better with the real stores(there are 3 of them as of October 2013) and hopefully they will continue to succeed. If you have a chance to come hang out in the Harajuku area, you may want to drop by for the flavors you are familiar with.

I have a huge love, maybe obsession with Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. I can eat a pint with no problems. When I found out they had stores in Japan, I HADTOGO. HADTO. Super cute interior and decoration in their little shop! My bf and I got 2 scoops in a cup, and I chose: Matcha Made in Heaven & Clever Cookie. The Clever Cookie was pretty delicious, but I was disappointed with the Matcha. Not too much flavor, just bland. The Clever Cookie is vanilla ice cream with chunks of chocolate cookie & chocolate chip cookie to make a chunky ice cream. Matcha Made in Heaven is just pecan nuts with their twist of green tea ice cream. Disappointing. D: Bf also got The Clever Cookie & Yuzu Citrus Kiss. You can imagine the Yuzu ice cream having a more sour sweet flavor to it. Wasn’t a fan of it as I don’t like sour things too much. He said it was alright. I will definitely come back, though!
