My husband and I saw Atjazz on a Friday night($ 35 at the door). The club is basically 3 floors, with the main room still being relatively small but with lofted standing room. The sound system is top notch, especially for the space. The bass was pumping from even the back of the room. The second floor room, at least for this show, had tables and chairs set-up, which made it much tougher to dance. Not sure why they’d leave the room with this set-up since the DJ in this room was also really great for dancing. They had 2-for-1 happy hour for the first few hours of the show, which is a nice bonus. This deal included all their drinks. The club seemed to attract a decent number of ex-pats, say about 15−20% of the crowd on this given night. As someone from the States who likes the techno and house scene, I’ve been enough places where the crowd is pushy, and while AIR’s clientele were not douche-y, I was kind of surprised by how much I got pushed around — but mostly from individuals who were just really into the music and dancing all over the place. Or something. Anyway, it was not what I expected but was manageable. I highly suggest taking an Über when you’re leaving this venue; it’s easier than catching a cab on this side street.

Came here for some dirty drum and bass. I was not disappointed. Not your typical bubble pop EDM club. This felt more art focused. Large enough dance floor, with plenty of lounging. If I had more time in Tokyo, I would have spent a few more nights here.

Had nothing but good nights here back in the day. A bit more space to dance and generally focused on house music, with a more relaxed vibe than some of the other clubs in the area.

Japan’s electronic dance scene is more refined than the rest of the world. When I visited Air, it was mostly a night of deep and tech house. A bit hidden if you’re a foreigner and you really have to look hard to find this place.
