One of my mission was to find a decent Jamaican restaurant in Tokyo and I think I did. I found them on Unilocal and I decided to check them out tonight and they were pretty good. We tried their jerk chicken and pork and the chicken was pretty good but the pork was kind of hard and not seasoned all the way. But that is to be expected because their customers don’t really no the difference because they don’t have another good Jamaican restaurant to compare with. But that will not always be the case. To sum it up, they are decent restaurant and worth the visit and their atmosphere capture the real feel of any little Jamaican restaurant in the Bronx or Brooklyn. So check them out if you’re ever in Tokyo!

Was quite impressed with our meal. Although I didn’t really know what to expect, the the Jamaican flag highly visible from the street was a good sign. The second good sign was the bbq grill(read: half cut steel drum like found on the islands). The jerk pork and chicken were simply amazing. I will not compare to what you would find in Jamaica because after all this Japan. What I will say is that the chef does a remarkable job at staying true to the proper jerk technique, which comes through clear in the taste. I haven’t actually had much better in the States. The curry chicken left something to be desired… perhaps resembled Japanese curry too much. Festival was okay, but could’ve used more salt. The ackee and salt fish was a good attempt, but just didn’t bring it home. All in all, give it a try if you’re in the area. We’ll definitely be back!
