I had my birthday dinner here last year. Boy, what a treat I had. This is a rare little French bistro that stands out from the many eateries in Sangenjaya. Sangenjaya is filled with places that are casual and affordable while Trois is slightly more expensive but very simple and stylish. How I wish I have such good taste. Their cashier was a vintage suitcase! How clever and cool is that! Most restaurants try to fit as many seats as possible as we all know, rent is not cheap in Japan. However, Trois daringly uses about half the restaurant as the kitchen and service area leaving only a few small tables and an L-shaped counter facing the kitchen. The night I was being spoilt on my birthday, we were by the counter facing the kitchen. The dishes are delicate and beautifully present and everything was divine. We had a lovely cut of onion pie and ordered the shirako(milt) grilled with cauliflower cream soup. My god, it was to die for. My words don’t do it justice, check out my photos instead.
