Ok. Being french canadian I cannot say it’s the best poutine I’ve ever eaten. That being said, their fries and gravy still beat most versions I’ve found in LA. Shimokitazawa is worth seeing(a hippie/hipster paradise, very different from Shibuya or Sinzuku) and if you feel a little bit nostalgic about poutine, or in need of a quick snack, it’s worth the stop. Staff is very nice, and if you’re a poutine connaisseur, you’ll appreciate the fact that it’s «approved by Drummondville»(I love their sense of humour!).

A Canadian french fries specialty fast food stall. Shimokitazawa neighborhood is an interesting area filled with really interesting stores and restaurants. There are many arty shops, used clothing stores, and funky cafes. So it is not surprising to see funky french fries specialty joint open their doors in this area. Canadians. What I can I say about them? I spent years living in Detroit area, so I been to Canada many times, and I enjoyed cheering for Steve Yzerman. Oh sure, I been to the French-Canada area, visiting Qubec and Montréal. With that said, I don’t ever remember eating Canadian French Fries. No, no, I have eaten potato fries in Canada, but I don’t remember it being any thing unusual. If there was gravy on my french fries, I would have noticed. So, I cannot make the determination whether or not Robson Fries is truly authentic Canadian fries or not. What I can say is whether or not gravy with cheese and gravy tasted good or not. My feeling: Its not criminally bad, but I just did not get it. Sure, you pour gravy on mashed potatoes, so why not on fried potatoes, right? Well, the key characteristic of tasty fries is that it is «crispy». Well, when you pour cheese and gravy on it, you lose all the crispiness. STORE: Many people use it to takeout, but you can eat inside on their counter without seats. Standing room only. YET, there is a rule that if you eat in their store, you need to order one item per person. You cannot buy on order of fries and share among two people. Lame. Who wants to eat the entire order of fries? Isn’t it an unwritten law of the Universe? «Thou shall share French fries with friends.»

Good effort but far from the original. Two stars but due to the rare nature of poutine shop 3. The new policy of one item per customer is a little odd. So that meant, a poutine plus a bacon wrapped banana was ordered. Perhaps understandable for a shop that can accommodate only 6 persons standing. Poutine is average.(Fries taste of the average frozen variety, the gravy is a light beige, the cheese is the standard processed cheese, cheese curd being difficult if not impossible to find in Japan.) They used to be enthusiastic and yell out orders. Although it was beyond max capacity was quiet tinside, more enthusiasm was coming in from potential customers looking inwards at the 8 people inside. Banana wrapped bacon was interesting. 日本でプーチンなかなか無い Robson’sってまーまー美味し 一人一品はちょっと嫌
