Ruins is a great place to start and finish the night with it’s ambience that encourages conversations amongst its regulars and visitors passing through Kyoto.
The owner, definitely sets the ‘no rush’ tone to enjoy each other’s company over drinks. A standard drinks and wine list with a limited food menu. Also handy that she fluently speaks Japanese, English, and French.
Come for the atmosphere and drinks, but I do recommend the home-​made curry if you fancy something to eat.
