Cosy jazz bar in Dotonbori! The building it’s located in appears to be full of jazz clubs. If I had more time, I’d visit them all so I can compare them! You’ll find them on the 4th floor. Apparently they’ve been around since 1969, so they know a thing or two about jazz and bossa nova. Not sure if it’s the same duo/trio who sings every night, but the lady singer who performed when we were there was just lovely. She was able to do a mix of English and Japanese songs, and gladly took my request of «Girl From Ipanema». The Japanese songs were all familiar jazz tunes, just sung in Japanese. I also like the pianist– very talented. When there’s not live music, a jazz CD will be played in the background. Drinks can be strong(they’ve got lots of whisky to choose from) and like a typical Japanese establishment, smoking is allowed inside. Great live music and lots of regulars makes this a great spot to chat with locals while listening to all the classics. Enjoy!
