My husband, who is a jazz musician by training, definitely wanted to seek out some jazz while we were in Osaka. He used the internet to find Comodo, which, we noticed, hadn’t been reviewed on Unilocal yet. On Tuesdays, they have a bossa nova night. A young woman sang in Portuguese and strummed her guitar over the course of two sets, each about an hour long.(No cover on Tuesdays.) The lounge has two high-top tables for 4 and otherwise the bar. They do have an English menu, but most of the people who work here spoke minimal English. Except for the owner, whom we met that Tuesday night and was so sweet and welcoming.(In fact, there’s now a photo of me and my husband in a digital frame at the bar.) They have a good whisky selection, for sure. It was wonderful coming here. I wish we had had time to come another night too, as their set-up for a bigger group was substantial, with high-quality instruments. If you a jazz and blues fan, definitely check out Comodo.
