This is a fantastic little hole in the wall café serving delicious espresso. Passionate about providing a delicious cup, having staff who know what they are doing makes the effort getting here worthwhile. Only serving espresso, and with limited seating, you may not sit here for long, but the blend they are using(given time to cool a little) is delicious. Passion: 8⁄10 Crema: 8⁄10 Coffee: Brazil + Ethiopian Blend

Followed the lead of fellow Unilocalers and made our way to this place. Given the lack of decent coffee in Japan we were willing to walk as far as it took to get good coffee. Luckily this place was not located from where we were staying. It was not hard to locate with the help of google maps. It offered a range of coffee options however we opted for lattes. The coffee was so smooth and creamy. Delicious. It was also only $ 3.50 which is a bargain for coffee on Japan!

The only café in Japan that I’ve been able to order a flat white! That pretty much sums it up but as the reader doesn’t really tell you anything, does it? A super short walk from Shinsaibashi station, Mill Pour is a hole-in-wall café serving up seriously good coffee(whichever way you order it) and hot dogs. A curious combination but it works. We ordered a flat white each(a double latte around these parts) and were given two size options. Cup or bigger cup(bowl size). I kept it small and it was perfect. Smooth, subtle and gentle. All the things you want in your first coffee of the morning. I also ordered an iced latte take away. The coffee stood its own against the milk. It’s also worth noting that unlike a lot of their comrades they’re open from about 8am each morning which is a thumbs up from this coffee hunter. There’s only room for 1 – 2 inside the café and a small seating area outside. This is an area for smokers, too.

Excellent espresso style coffee. If you can’t stand the brewed American style rubbish that Japanese drink this is the place for you. If you’re hankering for a Flat White, Latte, Machiatto etc this café excels. The barista we met here has worked in some of the great cafés in Melbourne.
