Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Osaka Station

Located right next door to Shin Osaka station, this hotel is about 3 – 6 km north of Central Osaka and sights like Dotinburi and Osaka Castle. Practically, that means a 5 minute easy train ride most places you need to go. It also means arriving here on the Bullet Train is a dream, a 2 minute walk from disembarking to check in.
The rooms were large for Japan, a good size by most 4 and 5 star Western hotels as well. Newly renovated, they are clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. In a standard room we had a new king bed, small desk, single lounge, lots of room for for my 2 massive tourist bags, mid sized bathroom, safe, bar fridge.
Perhaps most concerning for me when booking was the potential noise, being so close to the station. This wasn’t a factor at all. The rooms were quiet. I didn’t hear a single train, the people able me or even people moving through the halls.
Being next to the station there is everything you need closely — 7 Eleven, Lawsons etc, a pharmacy, fast food etc.
