So disappointing!!! We had our kids with us and because they did not have IDs to prove their age, they wouldn’t let us in. Who from the US has an age ID for their kid? Also, when traveling, who carries their passport with them at all time??? And we came all the way from shibuya!

This was on my to do list for this last trip to Tokyo. I saw a blogger write about her visit here and believed I had to come because I love cats, coffee, cafes, and cute things! Also, it was raining and I had time to kill so wanted to stay indoors with Internet while waiting for husband to get off work. Located in the outer areas of central/popular areas of Tokyo, it was a bit of a trek(yes, even on the highly efficient public transportation of Tokyo) to get here. The walk from the station is not far, it is located upstairs of a building, but there is a large sign(so you won’t miss it). Place/entry– cute, clean, short. Entryway is super cute already! Like a cartoon or hobbit house! You walk in and take off your shoes, place them on the shoe shelf. Closed door in front of you is the door to the café. There are hangers on the right side for you to hang your jacket or large coat. Cashier and washroom is also to you right. I didn’t see a sign telling me where to go to pay(because I read you still pay even if you don’t drink/eat at the café) so I waited to talk to the cashier. When the cashier came, she told me that I actually just go in first, pay later. I opened the café door and went in. Inside– Wow. A lot of people are in here!!! To my left are people sitting down at their own tables eating what they ordered(drinks plus snacks or even meals), straight ahead is a cute looking ‘igloo’ looking room and to my left are some more small tables(all taken) which another ‘igloo’ room(also taken). So I walked quickly to the closest vacant seat to sit down to take a look at the menu. A staff member came to me to give me a piece of paper with a clip, I think I am supposed to give this to the cashier when I pay. I asked her about wifi because I read that they provide free wifi, but she said they don’t provide free wifi!!! I guess not anymore! Boo! She left before I could ask her about ordering a drink :( So I went ahead and searched for kitties. There were quite a few of them, but they were all scattered. A few were napping and some were just walking around. However, because there were so many people in there, I didn’t get too much contact with the kitties. I ended up going around the whole place to play with some and to get photos. Staff put on a little show for us. They tried to make a few cats do tasks and also carried a couple cats around for us to pet, take photos, or greet. I thought that was nice. Overall, 3.5 stars. A bit pricey for a cat café with no free wifi or drink included(which other cat cafes provide). It is nice that you can dine there tho. The place is very cute and service is good, but I didn’t think it was amazing. There is no time limitation on how long you stay, which is a good and bad thing. Good because you can stay until whenever you want to leave, but bad because the place gets crowded and you might not be able to get a table to eat there because no one leaves. I would recommend coming here with a friend(earlier so you can get a table) and eating a meal here. That way, you stay here a few hrs to enjoy the food, and to really get enough time/interaction with the cats. I read price is cheaper in the evening, and staff feeds all the cats at once so you can see that, but it gets super duper crowded.
