The small chain specializes in Vietnamese phở — delectable rice noodles in clear broth. Visiting this particular location for the first time today. As to be expected, I was the only male customer(including the staff). A good sign for starters! Pay for your order up front and wait at your seat for your number to be called. Once your meal is ready, you can choose additional toppings of fresh leafy vegetables. If you don’t like cilantro, there’s a separate bin without it. Also available is fish oil and red chili sauces, both commonly used as seasoning for Vietnamese foods. I ordered the chicken-yuzu(a tart Japanese fruit cross between lemon and orange in flavor). After additional toppings were added, on the table are MORE goodies: okaki(deep fried rice crackers), moyayuzu(crunchy bean sprouts in yuzu marinade), black seven spices, white shoyu and yuzu extract! More and more toppings! Wow! The phở itself was tender but not overdone, soup light and rich further enhanced by the fish and chili sauces I added. Several thin slices of boiled chicken were tender and tasty. Overall, excellent balance of healthy ingredients all enjoyed in a delightful dance of spices and citrus flavor. I ordered the set, which costs only ¥200 more than a la carte. The set included fresh spring roll with shrimp and sweet soy sauces(excellent), sweet annin tofu(excellent!!!) and a drink — mine was iced jasmine tea(very good) today. The staff even thanked me for taking photos of my lunch — wow! I’ve never heard that before. I’ll be baaaaack!
