Sushinakumara is a 1 Michelin star restaurant that doesn’t feel like the other 1* restaurants in the area. Not only was the itamae not trained by any of the«big name» chefs in the town, he learned to make sushi on his own. The atmosphere of the place reminds me a lot of Sho — a bit more loud then any other sushiya with a bit more drinking! The pieces of nigiri are a bit smaller, but that is made up simply by the amount of fish you get during his omakase meal. Nakumara is a great place for a meal, less pretentious then others with a lot more fish!

If I had to pick one word for this place it’d be «beautiful». When I first came here I was so touched seeing the chef’s moves– quiet, serious and tender. He learned how to make sushi himself. His nigiri is relatively small and feminine, but in its uniqueness you can see the authentic Edomae style. I am a huge fan of tsumami selection here, especially grilled dishes. Among all the sushi bars I’ve been to, Nakamura is definitely one of the places that serve the best tsumami. Atmosphere is also what makes them unique, it makes you feel like you’re at the«salon» or stylish social club. Although the whole space is a little small, the time here totally relaxing and luxurious.
