Finding a plant-based breakfast in Tokyo early in the morning can be challenging. I was so happy when I ran into Pure Café that not only opens early but also offers a great selection of vegan breakfast, lunch and dinner meals. Food is simple but flavorful and customer service is very friendly. I had breakfast here almost every day during my last visit to Tokyo. I particularly liked the juices and smoothies and the soups, particularly the pumpkin one.

Pure Café was one of my favorite places to eat at in Tokyo. Everyone was friendly, the staff made an effort to speak English with me, and the prices were extremely reasonable. Since this is a café, you don’t have to feel awkward dining by yourself, as you simply order at the counter then sit down and await your food. The food was so good that I ate at this café 3 – 4 times during my 10 day business trip. Everything I ordered was very delicious. The burger was my utmost favorite but the plate lunch I ordered on my last day was light and refreshing. If I were to visit Tokyo again, you bet this would be at the top of my list of places at which to dine. So good!!!

Of course I’m going to love this place since it’s very organic and veggie friendly! They even have tempeh! I loved this place because the food was good, but you’ll especially have to try their breads since it’s their speciality. It was a great place for me and my friends to get together and have a bite while catching up on each others lives. If I’m in the area, I’ll definitely come back!

This place is good. I’ve tried everything on the menu. No joke! and this is coming from a dude that loves to eat meat! If you are nearby and craving healthy lunch, dinner, or snack do not hesitate on going there. Lunch set or lunch combos are a deal! Please note: the portion sizes have gotten smaller in the past month. So you might feel ripped off for what you pay because I know I do! And this is the reason it gets 3 points instead of 4.

This shop feels a little weird to me. For starters, they have menus everywhere, and it’s not really clear which things you can get when. They also have tea time between their lunch and dinner period, which is nice, but realistically, they could easily serve the same menu all day, instead of switching it daily and between time periods. It feels like a bit too much. The second thing is that some of the dishes are around 700yen, which gets you a tiny bowl of it, while the set or main dishes are only 900 — 1200, but are a full meal. So we were a bit disappointed with the single items, as their size were disproportionate to the cost. However, everything was very tasty(except for the daily smoothie we ordered– a little too healthy tasting) and the veggie burger(more of a sloppy joe) was definitely worth it’s price. I would return to try other main dishes, but I think there’s better veg options in Tokyo

Linked to the Aveda hair salon, Pure Café is is for the vegans, vegetarians and the health conscious. I usually come here on weekdays when it’s not so busy as it can get rather crowded with seatings very close to each other. My ex-boyfriend whose vegan would come here and go to their sister shop, Café Eight(now closed). I still frequent this place whenever I want a detox. The curry is great, they make a lovely sangria, the pasta is extremely filling and I especially love the desert. The tofu cheesecake and the apple crumble is delicious!

Great spot for healthy food. I would give it four stars… but I find the tables too cramped/close together to fully enjoy the atmosphere. The café is popular with vegans and vegetarians as not many places in Japan cater to this group. Since the café is located jointly with the Aveda store, from the moment you walk in you are greeted by the scent of herbs.(Lemongrass maybe?) It smells very refreshing, but I was worried it might overpower my food. Luckily, the smell is less potent in the café(or you get used to it). Either way, I was able to enjoy my lunch set — soup, bread, and a mixture of salads. Filling and healthy, just what I wanted.
