I used to eat at this taco shop called Palomino’s in Convoy, San Diego, whose tacos were 3 for $ 3.99. And mmmmmmmm their tacos were FILLED with carne and guac. What’s better than stuffing yourself with juicy meat dripping with fat and guacamole? I don’t blame any of you from California who believe Frijoles Roppongi does not sate your palate – nothing will ever replace your home country’s taste. But really? Do you expect the taste of California to live on in Tokyo? ohoho. Face the reality, pal. No. Anyways, Frijoles. Their burrito was around ¥1400, with salsa, meat, veggies, rice and sour cream. –1 star for only offering white rice in our burritos. Another –1 star for no extra tortillas. Another –1 for the beans not having much flavor. The price was understandable considering the high living cost of Japan. Japan’s cost of living is high. It’s expensive. And there’s nothing you can do about it. So stop crying over your«expensive» burrito and shove it up your mouth already!!!

Had the carnitas burrito. Pretty good. A veg-mess w/a bit of pork wrapped in a tortilla. 30 minutes after taking the last bite I’m hungry again. Harumphhhh. Ah, well. Such is life. I’m gonna be the first person in the history of burrito-pounding to spend $ 30 in one hour.

I have never been to Chipotle in US so I can’t compare here and Chipotle. I took salad with beef and avocado. The service was good. The staff asked my tastes politely and recommend the ingredients. It was good but short volume for me. It costs about ¥1800 with Salad and a bottle of beer. I’d like to come here again but I also want to try the blue cheese burger in front of this next time.

I have never eaten at Chipotle and I was told in Japan this is the next best thing to a real Chipotle. I do not think I want to eat at Chipotle after eating here. I paid 4200 yen for two burritos for me and my wife and I felt that I wasted my money. After visiting California and going to Mexican restaraunts where $ 7 gets you a burrito the size of a small baby with beans, rice, and steak seasoned with fresh spices and herbs — for 4200 yen I was expecting at least that level of care. Instead I got a bland white rice on a flour tortilla, with an uninspired heap of beef strips which tasted like a seasoning packet, and the whole dish seemed like a rather bad attempt to make a burrito. I don’t think I will be back, for 4200 — I’ll buy my own tequila and cilantro — make my own beef strips — buy the vegetables and make my own burrito. At least then — I won’t be disappointed by the taste. If this is what Chipotle tastes like, I don’t know why everyone wants it so badly…

As everyone mentioned, exact copy of Chipotle. Burritos are good in size and taste, but prices are a little more than what I’m used to back home. Supply and demand I guess!

The Chipotle of Japan. When you’re feeling a little homesick and want to chow down on some quick Mexican food– frijoles is the place to go.

It’s like chipotles but in Japan. It’s good. Especially when you’ve been here a while and get that mexican food craving. It’s usually full of foreigners I guess we all miss burritos.

I just cheated on Chipotle and I’m not proud of it. This place is a cheap copy of Chipotle; in fact, it almost looks like part of the franchise. Was the food horrible? No, but it was only okay and not great, much less Chipotle grade. The burritos are minuscule if you’re used to American sized burritos, and they are about twice as expensive as a Chipotle counterpart at 2400 yen for 2. It was such a blatant copy of Chipotle(the tables, the counters, the foil, the baskets, the extra 200 or so yen for the guac) that I felt dirty after eating it. I’m sorry Chipotle, I’ve misplaced my faith this time but it won’t happen again.

«Chipotle» in Japan. It’s fresher ingredients, but more expensive than Chipotle in America. I paid around 1800 yen for 3 tacos and a bottle of beer. They cut fresh vegetables and cook all their food in house. They only had Tecate and Sol for a bottle of beers when I went there.(680 yen/a bottle.) 380 yen for sodas, and YAY: free refill sodas. I also liked how clean and simple inside of their place was. I would definitely go back!
