Aladdin, located just opposite the main entrance to the Grand Hyatt, Roppongi, offers an assortment of kabobs(chicken, beef and goat) and stews of various kinds. With a Spartan-like interior, clear plastic coverings over white table cloths, and minimal wine list, it doesn’t appear Aladdin is reaching for broad market appeal. They reportedly offer a bit of belly dancing on Friday evenings, however. As an American the idea of setting foot into an Iranian restaurant left me to wonder if I might need a food-taster before digging in. Thus I’ve waited 12 hours before filing my comments. The food is good. Not great. I’d suggest the kabobs over the stews, as there are many fine appropriately spices stews and curries available all across Tokyo.
