Bagel Standard is the closest thing I’ve found to the bagels I’m used to getting in America! They have a great assortment of flavored cream cheeses and fresh bagels. I got the everything bagel with orange almond cream cheese and loved it. They make it into a sandwich for you, cut it in half and wrap it to go, since there’s not really a seating area. You can also get a bunch to go, but that seems to be a bit pricey, compared to what I’m used to. Overall, they did a great job, and I love this shop! I only wish they would toast them, especially on these chilly days.

Bagel Standard is probably the closest you’ll come to a bagel that you might find in New York. I’ve gotten their salt bagel and their everything bagel. The bagel has a hard enough outer«crust», though I wouldn’t actually call it «hard», but does have a decent enough chewiness that I think makes it a legitimate bagel. This small shop isn’t exactly well suited for eating in, but if you live in the neighborhood, it would be ideal to pop in for a bagel sandwich to go. Overall a decent bagel, but for the prices they charge you’d think they would be a little more generous with their cream cheese, but, yes, we are in Japan so I guess it comes with the territory.
